Ovarian Cysts: Ovarian Cysts and Birth Control Pills

» Lcullins - Ovarian Cysts and Birth Control Pills I have had ovarian cysts to rupture several times over the past 10 years. My doctor says that they are caused by taking a low dose birth control pill. He has changed my bc pills several times, but I still have the same problems. I decided to quit taking the pill. I am confused because everything that I read on the internet says that birth control pills are taken to help reduce the problem of ovarian cysts. Is it possible that I could be ovulating when these cysts rupture? If so, can I therefore be fertile? Thanks for any information that you can supply.-- posted by Lcullins
