I have been on Depo for 4 years and while on depo i've gained 50 lbs, slept all the time, have blurry vision (i had 20/20 vision before i took depo) and of course dizzy ALL THE TIME and sometimes feeling like fainting. To my knowledge after reading several posts in this website, the symptoms you and i are feeling is relative to Depo and will forever be present for as long as you are on the shot. I recently stopped taking Depo (my shot was due on Dec 22, 2005) because i wanted to get my period back, i felt that it was time to bleed again after 4 years- Now i am experiencing frequent dizziness and horrific cramps... i can't even walk!!! I am still waiting for my period to come, but i have a feeling it won't be any sooner. I suggest you go back taking your pills instead of the shot because in the long run Depo will ruin your body: emotionally and physically. But if you do decide to stay on it keep on taking your calcium supplements, i heard people taking Depo are experiencing osteoporosis at an early age!!!

I have been on the shot for a little over 10 years. I was in the military, I had never come close to breaking a bone before, and from the shot I fractured my pelvic bone, the connecting bones into both ankles and my knee. I have spent years at doctors trying to find out why...some of the best doctors in the area, and I goto a underdeveloped area in the city and just 2 months ago a gentleman not even a dr. told me about the issues at hand. Now I am super scared, 27, and after all those years asking dr's is this okay, and them saying yes, am I really going to be able to have children? I am at a loss for words about the stories I am reading now..I wish I knew earlier. arika

Your story scares me, after over ten years of depo sunday I am supposed to start a low estrogen birth control. I am already an emotional mess...I do have some reason to feel this way but I scared to death since my doctor told me the birth control would recorrect it....my 2oth or so dr i the line of dr's i have seen. EVeryone b4 this said there was nothing wrong I asked every 3 months. I am scared about what may happen to me I read some stories before but this really is an eye opener.

Yes.. im beginning to get very scared reading all of ya'llz posts..and you siad you were losing vision... That really concerns me becuase it seems every since i've been on depo every year I have to get an increase in my eye contact prescription..im almost to the point where I feel like im going blind in my right eye.. everything is always so blurry. I have a shot due this month, I think it is going to be my last one.. there has got to be better forms of birth control than this!~ My gyno actually warned me at my last pap that I needed to get off of it asap but I didn't listen to her now I wish I would have... hopefully thanks to all of you guys I will have stopped it before it was too late. Thank You

Hey I just read your post and my last shot was in July and I still haven't started either, not spotting or cramping. I haven't lost my hair but i gained 40 lbs. in a matter of months.

I was 125 lbs before I began the shot! Then I took it for about 3 months. My last shot was supposed to be in July well the doc said I would start in 4-6 months! Well i haven't and dont feel like I am about to. Now I have gained some 40 lbs. I was little and I have stretch marks bad because I grew so fast. Any one else have the same effects. THE SHOT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE I EVER MADE.

the sexual sidefects happen to me also. the menstration thing stoped for me after 4 months i didnt have any acne problems maybe this isnt your shot? i was on it for 3 years

i stoped the shot in september 05 after u stop the shot u could not have ur period for up to a year after u stop the shot. i just got my period for the first time in about 2 years and it is feb 2nd it took me 5 months after stoping the shot to get my perod back sorry it too awile for me to respond but yea and i have had my period on and off for 2 weeks it stops and goes stops and goes. hasnt stoped
