» casmoa3 - pcos and depo

hi my name is casey im 23 yrs old when i was 16yrs old i took the depo i had the shot twice and i quit it because i would bleed for 2 months at a time. before the shot i was fine and now after it i have pcos. i took the shot because i always would forget to take the pill. the bad thing about this is the place that gave me the shot never told me anything but its "safe". lol what a joke because of depo i probably wont have children and i feel so cheated. i called the place that gave me the shot and they said that they couldnt help me...what kind of crap is that? i am so mad about this whole thing i think depo caused pcos in me and i also believe it is the cause in meny women i also think it should be taken off the shelf.

» roxylady - Good news

i am on Depo and love it. I no longer have my period and no longer have t worrie about taking the pill. I have not had any side effects (besides a little weight gain) but nothing serious. It is not for everyone. But if it works for you it can be a great thing.

I was wondering how long you have been on depo? I have been on it for five years. I had side effects after the first year but didn't believe that it was because the shot was so great. Now I am so sick and can't wait for it to clear out of my system. I have a long road ahead of me to get my body back to where it should be. I also didn't gain any weight until after the first year. Even then it was a pound or two here and there and I lost track of all of them being as though you can't get rid of it. Now I am 120lbs heavier. Yeah that's a little much but I was also on phentermine to help lose some weight but it only made things worse when I quit taking it. I am done with all pills and shots. I am thinking about trying the patch but I haven't spoken to my doc yet. I will Oct 7.
Hope you change your mind about taking this debilitating drug. It WILL all catch up to you down the road. All people react to Depo just and different times. Some take longer to show symptoms.

» netty100 - going off the depo shot

After almost a full year of trying to figure out what is wrong with me (tired, weight gain on a healthy diet, hair falling out, irritable, and low sex drive), my doc has taken me off depo. I wish I would have listened to her earlier when she suggested it. I really liked the absence of periods and not having to remember the pill. My question to others is: how long until you felt normal again (lost the weight, moods returned to normal...)? I am hoping that this will happen soon. Thank you for responding.

» bsnyder - bad news

I originally posted on July 21st. I went to the doctor today since I have been having bad abdominal pains, continuous bleeding and large clotting the past 2 months. After numerous tests, I was then sent to an OBGYN Surgeon and told that I had a cervical polyps that had ruptured, had massive infection in my cervix and would probably need to have a hysterectomy to fix all of this and end the pain. This sucks after 3 years of bs trying to conceive again only to be told that I will never have another child. All because of the Depo Provera.
