I was on depo for 5 years. At first it was great, not having a period and all that good stuff. Then after about one year or so, my paps started coming back abnormal. At one point, I had to have a biopsy because there was indication of cancer. Ever since I have been off of depo, which was around Oct/Nov of 1999, my paps have been normal ever since. I attribute the bad paps to depo because of the fact that it interferes with a woman's "normal" cycle. When you have no periods, where are the bad cells to go? Answer: nowhere. I am ALL for taking it off the market and a class action suit. Women are losing babies or unable to conceive, having abnormal bleeding, abnormal paps, and, in my case, getting cancer scares.
