Depo-Provera: asking the FDA to investigate
This archived discussion is "read only". « Previous 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 Next » » imgn7 - Confused and scared hello everyone. reading all of your depo stories makes me really nervous. i started using depo 1 month ago and i'm already dying to be off of it. a couple of weeks after i had my initial shot, my boyfriend and i had sex. it was the most painful thing in the whole world. here's where everything gets worse. i was sore and the soreness was not going away. i made an appointment with my gynecologist and she examined me and told me that i had herpes because there was a tiny lesion near my vagina. she ran all kinds of tests and they all came back negative. my boyfriend was also tested and he came back negative as well. then i started doing my own research. i found a site about depo and atrophic vaginits. http://www.the-clitoris.com/f_html/healt... now i'm left to wonder what the cause of the tear near my vagina is. can anyone shed light on this?-- posted by imgn7 » jennifer580 - Depo shot I wish I also had seen all this before I got the depo shot it has caused me nothing but trouble.I would like to know what anyone is doing to get better because I am not. I can not even get a doctor to acknowledge there is a problem. I keep hearing that's a normal side effect. I have had so many infections of all kinds, spinal, sinus, and bladder. I also have heavy bleeding, cramps, blurred vision, mood swings, depression, memory loss and numbness. I wish I could get a doctor to listen.I would appreciate any help that you may have.-- posted by jennifer580 » StemCell - Cured My wife went through several problems with Depro just before I took her out of a mental ward.There was a total mis-diagnosis in her case. She had a condition that just kept getting worse. I was researching Picks, Lewy Body, Parkinsons, Dementia, and Prion. She had a degenerative (atrophic) disease. Something slows down the reproductive areas of certain cell groups in all of these diseases. Someimes the on-set is very slow which is one reason for so many MIS-DIAGNOSISES. She is now okay (I did not use fine.) But she only need one treatment every two years, And she is on the way to being cured. I think. She went on it because with four kids already, the decision was a financial one. In Australia, the medical profession tends to look at the patient history before prescibing. It is not common for a younger woman to receive the injection unless she has already got kids, there is a pre-existing medical condition that would make pregnancy dangerous for the patient, or some other underlying reason such as conflict with mental health medication and the "Pill", etc. In the beginning, the usual symptoms occured, ie: bleeding etc. -- posted by Asmodeus » SweetBailey - Re: what should i do? I sometimes stop depo for 3 months to let my body return to normal (Periods) and it works just fine. Everytime I stop using Depo I always have normal periods after. When I go back on Depo I have no period at all. The only side effect that I have experienced is weight gain,(not excessive, just10-15 pounds) but I also had that with the pill. So all in all it is great for me,but maybe not for everyone else. I am sorry for all the people who bought into the advertising over this medication without prior knowledge. They really push the fact that you won't have a period. I don't think it would sell as well if they tried to sell it based on the affects it causes to women. I and many others have gained over 50lbs. I have lost all faith in pharmaceutical Ind. I am convinced that they are out to make a quick buck and then there outta there. I am truely sorry for all that have taken, and will soon take this medication. It's poison in a gift wrapped package. No more periods, early menopause symptoms, miscarriages, hair loss, excessive weight gain, mood swings, and so much more. How well do you think the product would sell if those things were put on as there slogans? They don't care. There outta there. I guess you could sue... I have been off the shot since 2001 and still have problems with irregular and/or heavy menses, acne, endometriosis-like pains (although the surgery showed no signs of the disease) and many other symptoms. I still get horrible headaches, and in the nearly three years it has been, I have only been able to lose about 20 of the 80 pounds I put on during the year I was on the shot. I wish I had known sooner. I need to know what the side effects are because Ive been getting some really irritating headaches and I'm not sure if they're caused from getting off the shot. I worked in Child Care and did alot of driving kids around and that was out of the question when you have migranes!! I have been doing alot of research on Depo and have found that headaches are common when you are on it and even after you have stopped getting it.
