Nocturne of the WharvesRead the article this discussion is about
This archived discussion is "read only". « Previous 1 2 Next » » Sunbear - Bontemps Hi Nichel,Thanks for introducing me to this poet. I really did the like the poem that you used as an illustration--very powerful, very intense imagery. I too often read poetry when I need to find myself again. That, meditation, music and walking with nature are my ways to connect with my spirit. Sure do appreciate what your are doing with your topic and introducing us to less known literary and artistic figures. Sincerely, -- posted by Sunbear » Sunbear - Re: Re: Bontemps In response to message posted by Nichel:Hi Nichel, I am drawn to this poem, so I read it again. It really does speak to the human condition, doesn't it. I feel like those ships creaking against the pilings and that wonderful image of the "sea-green shadows." I like the simple, direct language and exquisite images and metaphors. Thanks again, -- posted by Sunbear » Nichel - Re: Re: Re: Bontemps In response to message posted by Sunbear:Hi Tom, That is so funny, I did the exact thing this weekend. I too was drawn to re-read Bontemps' poem, his imagery is so wonderfully written so all can enjoy...living. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great evening. -- posted by Nichel » Tina_Coruth - Wow!
