» jerrib - Now where were writers like you

when I was in history class, Mary?

This is a delightful history lesson.

I have a cousin who was career military and I guess I do remember he liked change (I, too, do). I wonder if it was the newness of orders to another place that elicited the response you describe. A new leaf of life, so to speak.

And what better way to write than from experience with your military husband.

I enjoyed this!

My daughter read yesterday that Joan of Arc liked to drink heavily when she went to battle. Now there's another take on change!

Mary,

This is an excellent look at the life that Libbie Custer lead. It must have been hard on her moving across the country, never knowing what she would encounter. Isn't this so with all military wives?

I enjoyed this article very much. Sorry it's been so long since I had time to drop over.

Hi Jerri,
I was, also, in the military so I can look at it from that side too. I think military folks and truck drivers have about the same blood running through them. My dad was a truck driver and I use to go with him on long-hauls, so I, too, have the "itchy feet," though they pretty much stay planted anymore. Too many critters here to be hauling all over the place.
Thanks again. By the way, my book on Kennewick is out and in the stores. It is so hard to believe.
Mary

She did what?! Now those drunkin' sailors are going to be blaming us women for that, too. But then, I can't say as I blame her.
Thanks, Mary

Hi Red,
Yes, it is so with military wives. It was fun for me to begin with, then when the kids started to school I could see the strain it was having on them, and it still shows after all these years.
Thanks, Mary
