Yes, you were a very rich child! Happy Holidays! Renie -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » Red - congratulations... Mary, congratulations on the Honorable Mention. This is a terrific story. The other judges and I had a very hard time making our final decison. This is delightful and as Renie says, you were a very rich child. This story brought back memories of my childhood on the farm.-- posted by Red » SandyMcC - Wow@ Oh my, I keep thinking that was the best story yet, and then I come across another one. Now, this one - this was a really, really wonderful read, Mary!-- posted by SandyMcC » Mary Trotter Kion - Re: What a wonderful story In response to message posted by jerrib:Hi Jerri, and thanks on the congrats. After we did get electricity and I sat on my sister's lap listening to Fanny Brice as Baby Snooks on the radio and someone would have told me I'd be writing about those days on something called the Internet I would never have believed them. -- posted by Mary Trotter Kion » Mary Trotter Kion - Re: Congratulations Mary In response to message posted by RosemaryBasil:Hello Rose, -- posted by Mary Trotter Kion » Mary Trotter Kion - Re: congratulations... In response to message posted by Red:Hi Red, Thank you so very much for this honor. I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, we were very rich, even a few years later when we really were poor we were still very rich. But, that's another story. -- posted by Mary Trotter Kion » Mary Trotter Kion - Re: Wow@ In response to message posted by SandyMcC:Hi Sandy, So glad you liked it. They say you can't go home again but, whom ever "They" are, they are wrong. Do make the butter. It does bring home back home. A few years ago, when I was raising goats, I made butter on Christmas morn, however, something went wrong because the butter was suppose to be whipped cream. I guess I gave the cream one too many whips. I checked out your page. It looks like a good place to take a break between baking cookies and burning fudge. I love reading Alaskan history. Have a good Christmas. Mary -- posted by Mary Trotter Kion » Mary Trotter Kion - Re: Holiday memory In response to message posted by cmborris:Hi Cynthia, Glad you liked it. I can't wait to visit your topic. I grew up (teen years) in Stockton, CA. so should feel a home on your page.
