» pennywhitting - Halloween

Hi Elizabeth. Your article is just what I needed. In Australia Halloween is a new concept and I was searching for the origins of the festival. Fascinating. This year Halloween was so much fun and I loved the look of delight on young faces when they got their bag of sweets. Thanks for all the information. I will be better prepared next year.

Dear Geewhit:

I would love to hear how Australia celebrated Halloween. Is it a new holiday that is celebrated in Australia? What kind of sweets do they give out? I know in Europe, from which the holiday originated, has become like the American Halloween where children go to houses for candy. Actually in the U.S., cities have started providing places for Halloween parties or trick and treat at shopping malls for safety reasons.
Thanks and glad the article helped.
