I had similar things happen in an apartment I lived in in Louisville, Ky. At first my boyfriend & I heard footsteps (and it wasn't the acoustics & there was not a person walking around either). Then that went away but things fell, got thrown out of cupboards even. I remember we were both in bed and heard a racket in the kitchen, I went in (he was scared to!) and the doors of an in-wall cupboard were thrown open & stuff was knocked down everywhere. Inside the door of the same cupboard (on another occasion) a necklace was hanging on a nail, we heard a CLINK one night, went in the kitchen and the necklace was on the floor but the nail wasn't bent and the cord of the necklace wasn't broken (no wind either). Things like that happened repeatedly the whole time we lived there - one time a metal shelf bracket actually flew across the room and hit my boyfriend in the leg. The thing that spooked us most (and Janice, I wonder if you could explain this) was a noise, very distinct, in our bedroom. It was so loud we both (and the cat) were looking up the chimney, listening at the wall - wondering if a bird wasn't trapped or something - sounded kind of like someone running their finger up and down a venitian blind. While other things that happened in the apartment came and went (like the footsteps never heard again), this sound was consistant (and went on for far too long to have been the fluttering of birds wings in the chimney). I afterwards realized it sounded more like someone shuffling cards than anything else. We both thought it sounded like it was right by our ears! Totally bizzarre.PS - I don't know if you've run into this or not but the Institute for Psychic Research has a test up (photos of haunted places you record your impressions of). They're hiring 2 new people. I couldn't look at them for but so long - there's a link on a bulliten at my tarot site, I'd love to know what you think of the pictures. One in particular but I won't give it away.

Well, since then, I've still find Dimes on occasions, and I usually get some extra income when that happens. Other than my usual paychecks.I've had all kinds of things happen in my place as you have described. Plates flying out of the cupboard. This happened to two people on two separate occasions. It feels like the Enitity follows me. Things would happen anywhere I go. Or maybe I disturb the ones that are there. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just really "In Tuned with the Universe" as my mom alway say.
Last night I was at a friends house, and I was playing with her lamp which has a dimmer knob. I was makeing the lights dim and then brighter and back dim...then I set it to medium lighting and left it alone. (I play with things sometimes) Anyways, my friend and I were talking there in the room and the light would get brighter and dimmer all by itself. And it wouldn't stop, even after I told it to.
My cats always act like there is someone else in my apartment. It's weird because the trash can cover NEVER stays on. it is like it will Pop right off. My broom is constantly being knocked over. My friends and I will be in the living room and it sounds like someone is walking around the kitchen, which is Right next to us. We go in there to see who would be there, and we dont see anyone.
I always feel there is someone else there just watching me. but it's a calm feeling, someone will be sitting at the end of my bed. I feel them sitting down, but you never see anything.
I could go on...but I have to get to work. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

I am 39 and have 5 children and they still tell me that they love me even from heaven. I find dimes at the car, on my bed, on the ground, cleaning out boxes, in parking lots, in my car, on my bedroom floor, my children find them as well, and bring them to me. It is a great feeling. I believe that all things happen for a reason and have purpose, and until something more significate manifests, I will receive these dimes under these heavenly 'I love you's.

That is Amazing!! I am so glad someone else has a story similar to mine. And not only that, it was a wonderful story.However, I haven't known anyone to die, other than my baby brother. He was just 8 or 9 months old.
I really like your insight on the dimes. I too have asked around for significant of dimes and people don't seem to know. I did come up with a list of sayings and so on that consist of dimes. I will look for it and let you know what I had come up with, with help from other people.

I have recently been finding dimes also. My little granddaughter was killed in a car accident Nov. 21, 1999. I think about her all the time. 3 weeks ago I was home alone cleaning. I went to put clothes in the wash and found a dime on my dryer and one in the washer. Normally I just pick up money and put it in my pocket but for some reason it felt different. I had heard about people finding coins and thinking they were left by loved ones. I asked God if this was from Sheyenne to let me find more dimes. I went in the living room and there was one on the floor. Then I found one in the kids bathroom and later on 2 on my kitchen table. I kept looking for 2 more because she was 8 months old. I didn't find any. I didn't think anymore about it til 2 weeks later and I was cleaning again and there was another dime on the living room floor and 1 in the kitchen. That is all I found that day. That was the other 2 which made 8. I was telling my friend who is a teacher at school. The baby died on her birthday. A little while after I left her room she called me and said you aren't going to believe this but I just opened my cabinet and there was a dime in it. Since then everyone that has had a conection has found one. Another friend that had a birthday the day she was buried found one when she was walking and I hadn't even told her. I asked the teacher to check the date on hers and it was 1980 which was my daughters year she was born. I found 2 dimes and 6 dimes. She was born on the 26 and June which is the 6th month and Sheyenne was born on the 6th day. Also my dad today after I told him opened his billfold and found 6 dimes and my mom said she found 2 in her washing machine today. 2 & 6. The first one I looked at was 1999 the year she died. I walked in the house and told my husband about it and walked back in the kitchen and there was a dime on the floor that wasn't there before. I belive.-- posted by paraese

I'm glad I found other people with this experience. In October it was the one-year anniversary of my beloved dad's death. That weekend I found dimes in the strangest places...and still continue to. I also have been finding dimes everywhere.. on the ground mostly.. I have never checked the years on them, but from a quick glance I can see that they are fairly new.. nothing really old or unusual, just that they are everywhere.. and I can spot them from across a room.. places where people never find them. It is almost as if I am drawn to them. I also have issues with the number 44. I see it everywhere.. on the clock, the model number on my grandmothers stove.. and on and on. I was also in a car accident and the address where it took place was 944. I am a little freaked out.. and am not sure if I should run from or embrace the dimes that are all around me constantly. If anyone has any ideas about the significance of these dimes I would like to know.. should I pick them up.. or what??please email me.. rainbow_fright_@yahoo.com

What you are all experiencing is a phenomenon called "apportation"; spirits are apporting objects to you. Dimes are a logical choice; they are lightweight and metal. Since spirits work in energy, metal conducts energy, metal objects are good to apport. This is a well documented phenomenon that usually occurs with mediums but is not uncommon to happen to everyday people. Most of whom probably don't know it's happening!
Apportation is just one of many ways spirits try to get our attention. Once you are "tuned in" to these things you will start to see them everywhere. The dead continue to care for us and try to influence our lives in little ways whenever they can.
(It's worth noting apportation is something some of the living can do too--people with tremendously well-developed psychic powers.)

God showed me that this is His way of telling me He loves me and I need to trust Him. The only periods of time when I did not find dimes was when I went somewhere for 3 months where the Lord told me to go and I was trusting in Him so He didn't have to keep reminding me. I am at a place now where I am trusting in Him and I have not found one dime yet. I believe dimes could have a different message for different people. I've looked through a lot of people's testimonies of finding dimes. They usually say it's "ghosts" way of trying to say they love you but that's not true it's God's way. When I was depressed I found a lot more dimes than when I was happy. Dimes are God's way of showing me it's going to be ok. He is with me. I guess it helps when you have a relationship with Him then you can see the truth!

While walking down the street one evening I came upon, at different times, three dimes.Each dime was face up on a crack in the sidewalk. I thought that it was strange but thought nothing more of it. Then later in the trip while getting or giving change another three dimes ,jumped yes jumped, from my and to the ground. Also, since my return I have found several dimes in the face up position in many strange places. I am only beginning to look into this. Any help of where to look and who to speak to will be greatly appreciated. Also, it is great to see that this wonderful event has happened to to others.MAtt
