I know how to get there, tryed to go this past Sundayay but the road was blocked, because at this time of the year a lot of people go there, but i heard that if you get caught by the cops in there you have to pay a ticket and you go to jail for 1 or 2 days.

Does anybody know how much you have to pay if you get caught in there?

» jcool2006 - "Haunted Tracks"/Asylum

Okay. So my friends and I thought it would be a fun thing to go and have ourselves a little scare this past weekend. So we drove down to the tracks, which I have something to say about those in a second, but we were actually looking for the insane asylum. So we didn't know exactly where it was. We all thought it was this little trail thing that Villimain Rd (spelling?) led off into before you cross the tracks. We were so wrong about that. We ran down that trail only to find a trailer and some old lady sitting outside with her dogs. Disappointing yet scary at the same time so we ran back to the road. Okay, so no insane ayslum that time. BUT, the story about no trains going through there anymore is NOT true at all. When we first got there, there was no train on the tracks, and we saw the trail and it was pitch black so we went to Wal-Mart to buy flashlights. When we had arrived back at the tracks, there was a REAL train sitting on the tracks. We pulled off to the side and got out of the car. Some guys from this website were also there taking pictures of the train and everything. It was an actual train because it started moving and I thought it would be fun (i don't know why) to throw rocks at it as it started up and then continued on to wherever it was going. So, I saw a train there... yeah. and this other group of people walked up to the very front, the engine part and there was someone in the train, so stories about trains not being able to go through there anymore are..i don't know. unless that train got lost or something. ::shrug:: who know's?! but yeah, nothing really freaking like cars rolling off tracks or anything like that happened that night. however, when we were leaving to buy the flashlights, a black cat had run across the road in front of us on Villimain Rd. And when we were running back to the road away from that lady and her dogs, I tripped and fell and scraped up my arm and bruised my hip...thought that was kinda weird. Yeah, but that's all I have to say about the area of town. We might go back this weekend to find the actual spot of the asylum.

to get to donkey lady bridge take 410 to Zarzamora. There is construction on 410 right now so you may still have to take the access rd to the next streeet (sommerset I belive), any way loop back around on the access rd back to Zrzamora, when you get to Applewhite rd turn lft. Follow Applewhite (there is a lot of construction now on this rd also thanks to the TOyota plant being built)you'll cross over 1604, and maybe a mile or two on the right hand side is Old Applewhite rd. This is where you will turn. THe rd curves and becomes Jett rd so be careful. There are now barricades across old applewhite wher it starts the curve. It looks like they may be getting to tear out the bridge so if your going to go do it now while it is still there. The bridge is just a lane bridge but it's still really cool and spooky at night. I suggest you take a day time run out to it the first time so you can find it at night. A friend of mine were out there not to long ago and got an evp (during the day) and some freaky pictures at night of some of the trees out there we couldn't get any of the bridge for some reason as her camra would malfunction only when we were try to take a picture of the bridge it's self. Have fun but becareful.

I know this is an older article but I keep reading (here and other places) and talking to people who seem to think this is an abandond track. It's not. There are real trains that still use these tracks on a regular basis ( I grew up on the southside not to far away from these tracks). Sometimes the grass and brush can get pretty high around the Shane/Villamen rd. crossing and there are no R.R. arms to stop cars or to warn you there may be a train coming. This is also a spot where the trains seem to stop and wait . I'm not sure if it's a schedule thing or because the conductor is awaiting another trian to be diverted onto a side track somewhere further up the tracks. SO yes if you see a train it's real. SO please use the same caution here as you would at any other r.r. crossing. Also if you see the police sitting by the tracks just keep going or you may get a ticket now.

Here is an update on DOnkey lady bridge.
I went out there last night and there is now a guard rail at the curve that prevents you from driving onto the part of the road the bridge is on. You can still see the bridge and can just hop over the guard rail. I'm not sure how much longer the bridge and road are still going to be there so if anyone plans on going now is the time to do it.

They are $50 dollars. They told us we were going to jail. But they let us go. It was totally worth it. We got some good paranormal activity.

You should have gone to the Asylum that night! So much better. You might want to be careful we all got tickets(but worth it). Its on Southton rd. and a farm road. Right behind the TYC juvenile center.
