Haunted lighthouses? This probably explains why the operational lighthouse in San Diego, CA (the one at the end of Point Loma, not the one tourists visit) has so many problems. As an Electronic Tech for the USCG, the lighthouse was part of our "space." We didn't run the light, but the navigational equipment and the fog dectector located there. We had so many problems with the bloody fog dectector; it would go off during sunny days, and not make a sound in dense fog. Technicians of every rank, and location came out to deal with this, and no one else could get it to work. I suggested a ghost might not like it. Can you guess the reaction I got? They eventually moved it (after I left) and it's been working fine ever since. Other equipment put in the same spot doesn't work either.
After living in that haunted house, I'm now "sensitive" to ghosts (or always have been just never been around ghosts before) and knew of at least two haunted spots on a CG ship that I was stationed on for a year. I didn't really consider the ship haunted, until one night a ghost followed me down the main passageway and stood within inches of me. I didn't see him, but without question he was right behind me. The other spot was more active (again more electrical problems) and an unhappy ghost lived there. Numerous times, day or night, I would not go to that portion of the ship unless I aboslutely had to.

it must be a ghost...I know exactly what you mean about the ghost following behind you on the ship. I've had the experience of a ghost being very near me at times also. You've probably always been sensitive to them Kassandra.Have you ever visited a strange place and picked up on feelings of sadness and despair that were so overwhelming and intense? It always gives me a terrible headache when it happens and I'm not really sure why. Janice

» Kassper - I usually get feelings of sadness and despair, and extreme hopel
I usually get feelings of sadness and despair, and extreme hopelessness at historic sites. Plus I can sense a "weight" (for lack of a better word) of the house on top of me...almost like somone standing on my shoulders. Plus, that feeling of being watched. That's what creeps me out the most. If I get an intense feeling of all eyes upon me, I'll leave. When we go house hunting, I may love the house but if I feel watched, I refuse to move in there.Whenever I'm in the Pearl Harbor area, I always get a feeling of choas and terror. I don't know if it's my vivid immagination filling in the history for me or something else.
