» bossel - hi colleen,

glad to see that you're still alive. why didn't you answer in the 'kaffeetrinken'-thread? did i say something wrong?

BTW, i wonder, what kohl would say about the SPD being his allies.

» cmryor - Hallo Herr Bossel!

Hi Bossel,

I'm sorry that I have taken so long to get back to you in the Kaffeetrinken thread. I have been so busy working now that I don't spend nearly as much time on-line anymore.

As for Kohl & the SPD being allies -- more like colleauges. What is your take on that situation?

How has Germany reacted to our fandangle of an election lately? (The news, that is?)

Hope you are doing well.

Alles Gute,

» bossel - hello, miss colleen!

In response to message posted by cmryor:

really no problem.

the news have reacted differently. the left-wing journalists find it embarassing for the US (something like: 'oh what a super-power that is, where you don't have the outcome 5 minutes after the election closed') & call the electoral college system 'anyway un-democratic' (as if our chancellor gets elected directly by the people).
some even see a constitutional crisis in the USA.

more objective journalists say that it's kind of embarassing but not as harsh as the left-wingers. 'it's not nice, but it can happen.'

i, personally, like that situation: nobody knows what's going on, all are speculating & a close race is most interesting.

re 'adirondack review':
i din't think, i'm a quality writer (at least not yet), but i'll see what i can do. maybe i'll hand in something for your other magazine: simple planet.
so you're a libertarian ecologist?! i thought, i was the only one.

nur nicht überarbeiten, i can wait.
have a nice time,

Hallo Bossel,

That would be great to have you submit an article for Simple Planet. Na, I started an environmental club in high school about ten years ago, and I hear that it's still going now. Das ist ja interessant -- Du bist auch ein Baumumarmer. ;)

Frankly, I am very angry at Al Gore for not being able to admit that he lost. (Oh God, I probably opened up a huge can of worms here.) The guy lost, even after the recount. He is just a sore loser. He cares more about his own personal ambition than what is best for the country. Now I really hope that Gore gets it -- you knw what they say: Be careful what you wish for; you just may get it. Whoever wins this election will most definitely preside over a sparring nation split in two -- each side very bitter. It won't be a fun time for whichever guy gets it.

Na ja -- now I am getting sick of this topic, and I am starting to get angry about this, as I'm sure most of the rest of America is.

Mach's gut,
