Not only do I have literally thousands of personal photographs, but also my mother's, and now several very old photo albums - almost none of which have been identified by the original owner. One album is from 1912, another from the 1890's (I think).And, a year later, I still haven't put my wedding photos into an album!
So there is a lot of work to do, and your recommendations are a great starting point.
