» m2beab - How long have you been doing this? I am new to this genealogy world and had a couple of questions on it.#1. How long have ya been doing this? #2. Does this cost a whole lot? #3. How do you go past grandparents if you don't know the names of their parents? Thank you for any comments on this. -- posted by m2beab » crisbe - Cousin relationships Jerri,I know what you mean about cousins getting confusing. I rely pretty much on relationship charts. Try the link http://www.CyndisList.com/cousins.htm to find a number of relationship charts. Everyone has their own particular favorite. BTW the removed part of the cousin relationship has to do with being from a different generation on the family tree. There are two articles which explain this http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/16_co... and http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ridge... What gets confusing is sometimes you can be the same age but removed. For instance in large families, with wide age spreads. The last child is born and the oldest has already had a baby. -- posted by crisbe » crisbe - New to Genealogy Elizabeth,You gave me the idea for this weeks article. For the answers to your questions see http://suite101.com/article.cfm/1237/458... Hope this helps. -- posted by crisbe
