» loverofplants - Clivia

I have several Clivias growing over the past 8-10 years. Each one blooms each year; however, the stalks are short and the flowers bloom squished among the leaves. In store, the stalks are often 12 inches tall; mine get about 4 inches. Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?

This fenenomen as you describe is normal if you keep your plants in warm rooms(more than 16°C).
Clivia plants need a cold period from 15 Sept until the end of Nov. During this period temperature should be between 5 and 12°C.
This will force to stalks to grow much longer as they are now.
Hopefully this helps you so that you can enjoy your Clivia's better.
