Can someone please tell me how to kill these things?I am very near farmland and the grasshoppers are totally out of control.Not only do they do alot of damage they scare my kids.They are huge flying creatures and there are so many.It's at the point my kids refused to leave the house until the sun went down.It's okay now because they are gone but next year it will start all over again.We just moved there and my family wants to leave because of the grasshoppers. Thanks for any help

Hmm...well, with an infestation that ranges over so much farmland, there probably isn't much you can do to keep them off your property. You need to talk to the local cooperative extension (nearest agriculture college or look in government pages in phonebook) or the people owning the farmland to find out what THEY are doing to prevent such things.

Grasshoppers are harmless to people and they don't bite. But in large groups, they can be very scary but are just hungry critters searching for a bite to eat.

I don't think there is anything you can spray on your property to keep them out. But check with www.gardensalive.com to see if they have any mass grasshopper control product. Perhaps they have some sonic contraption that is supposed to deflect them from areas.
