That is your Brug. I just went outside and checked. It has four flowers in bloom and another eight ready to pop. I have it in a 14 or 16 inch pot near the front door. It comes indoors in the winter. I keep it watered and do not let it dry out. That is why I have had so many flowers all summer. I took some cuttings from it last year and they too have flowered a number of times this year. Every time I look at them, I thank you for the gift. The manager of a nearby nursery keeps a magnificent mother Brug in his greenhouse from which he takes cuttings to grow for sale. His suggestion was to give a Brug plenty of water. It has worked. We do not have very young children around so I do not worry that one would take an interest in the Monkshood and try a nibble. I am sorry that the deer do not partake of those semi-deadly plants. They eat everything that is not somewhat poisonous. Somehow the deer missed the Jerusalem Artichoke that was in the middle of the clump and that was the only one that had its top survive to flower. Living adjacent to a state park does have some disadvantages. What the deer missed this year the racoons and woodchucks finished off in the vegetable garden. Again, thank you for the Brug and the poppy seeds. All have done well. -- posted by Howie
