Yes your before and after pictures are great and I love your ocean Karon but 20 years ago the painter of the bows etc. was probably proud of their work too. I womder where that dresser I had went that I painted neon green with white accents.-- posted by mimi4fun

Hi, mimi4fun -- so glad you visited and read the story about the ocean chest! The original designer may have been happy with her work, but since I found it practically ready for the trash heap, I figured that it had lost its appeal to its owner and was ready for an update. I've recycled items and loved them for a while and then looked later and thought, "ohmygosh -- why did I do that?!" Anyway -- you know what they say -- one man's trash is another's treasure. The best thing about recycling old junky furniture is that you can always change what you don't like, with time and imagination.
