women are naturally hairy.

» fugee1 - leg hair

I was pondering the meaning of life when my mind returned to that old chestnut of a dilemma....to shave or not to shave....my legs that is!
Whether tis more natural to let that soft moss thicken, or should I whip it away lest any man, woman or child see it, and take mighty offence....
Hmm...hmm...

Any suggestions?

» 4N_Madder - What do YOU want to do?

Kinda depends on where you live, doesn't it?
It also depends on whether you want to be a hermit/recluse or actually go out in public.
Then again, do YOU care? If you don't care, why should anyone else?

Why do we have to live up to someone else's expectations?

Be yourself!

» colleenmwilliams - to be hairy or not to be hairy

hmmm well speaking as one who was totally devoid of all body hair due to chemo hairiness or lack thereof does not define an individual, or sure shouldn't ..... as for the weather thing I live in Alaska and have found that in the winter I do shave my legs less often, but only cause I am not wearing miniskirts on my snow-go (alaskan for snowmobile, sometimes called snow-machine in Ak also) lol wooow that would be a freezy breezy covergirl look, huh?

» ormazd - grow it

I shave in the summer (not that I actually make it to the beach) to humor my office mates.

I usually let it grow through the winter and shave in the spring. Since I wear black tights or hose, the hair is barely noticeable.

Although I do pluck weekly (unibrow).

» Rolling_Stone - Ugh.....shaving....

I HATE shaving. I naturally DESPISE it! So I don't. Hee hee hee. Plus, a story a friend told me about shaving and ripping a hunk of flesh off in the process sort of turned me off. Well, there you go. It's out in the open. STONES DOESN'T SHAVE. It's gonna be in the papers...oh, my achin head....

» fugee1 - courage

I admire you Stonesy, well done! But I am like Ormazd, I clear the fields when I have to.
However do you not get pressurized to be "la femme." Someone said earlier, be yourself, but it is very difficult when your legs become the centre of attention. I get all sorts of hassle at work, and its generally from other women. You need courage to challenge conformity! Any thoughts?

» Rolling_Stone - Rebel rebel

I am a "non comformist". Living in a world where everyone is striving for the same goal is SUCH a drag! I don't know how you people handle it. But, you know, maybe I'm weak, and that's why I don't even bother anymore to acknowledge routines of people. Conformity is all frivolty. Why are we trying to be the same? I think it's especially hard for women and teens. Teenagers seem to have it set in their minds that they have to be like everyone else, that they have to "fit in". But I beg to differ. I don't want to fit in. I don't want to share my world with everyone else. It's not greed, it's just my life. Heard that Bon Jovi song? Kicks ass, coz that's me. I just want to do what I want and make the best of life. And this is getting off the topic of hairy legs, so I'm gone. Have a good one, peoples.

» ormazd - My friend was horrified

Speaking of comments... My girlfriend and I swap foot rubs. Last winter, she was giving me a foot rub and started massaging my ankles. When she felt my winter fur, she freaked. She was like, "Oh, my, I can't believe you let your hair go THAT long. Is your underarm hair that long too? Geez, I'd have shaven that off long ago."

She wasn't being mean, she was sincerely shocked.

And some people at the office (usually guys) make it a point to let me know when I'm due for a leg shave. Deal with it, I tell them.
