No Fear - Baby stepping into a frugal lifestyleRead the article this discussion is about

» n2_tightwaddery - Fun and Frugal I agree completely. I am kind of new to the whole "tightwad" mentality. I recently quit my career of 10 years to stay home with my son, born last April. Our family is living proof that you CAN make it on just one income, and it doesn't have to mean going without. At first I was saving every milk jug and plastic bag with the thought that I will be able to use it for SOMETHING, and I felt guilty if I threw anything away. Now I have realized that there will be more milk jugs and plenty of plastic bags that come my way, and when I find a purpose for one or the other, I can keep the next one that becomes available! One thing I can do without is the clutter!I do have FUN being frugal. In fact, it is such a passion for me that I started a club at my church. We plan to meet every other month to discuss money saving ideas and I will publish a newsletter out of it. I will set up my home page on Suite101 to display some of the information that we discuss. I want to help others as I go along. We'll see how it goes! -- posted by n2_tightwaddery » inkwolver - Fun & Frugal I was very uncomfortable with my own "frugality" years ago, but since then I have found people that I can call and tell that I bought an entire outfit for five dollars that share my happiness. I do not believe that success is measured by how many "new" things one owns. I live hard, laugh hard, life is too short to dwell on my circumstances. It is my sincere hope that anyone who visits here can learn something they didn't know before and leave feeling better about their choice of lifestyle.-- posted by inkwolver
