» Barbara Nicholson Bell - Buddha's Hand citrus

Have you ever seen one of these, Connie? We found them a few weeks ago in our local supermarket but only for a very few days. They cost $10 apiece, so you know they must be uncommon.

There's an excellent photo of one here (it takes a little while to load). Really odd!

Ugli fruit are a harbinger of spring and are also pricey, so we buy one as a treat and share it...they are so delicious!

What a unique fruit, Barbara. I was glad to see a photo. I can't say I would want to pay $10 - especially if I didn't know about it before I tried to eat it.

Connie, this is a helpful article. Some of the fruits are in our stores here, but I certainly was not aware of others.

My favorite tea, Earl Gray, is flavored with bergamot; I didn't know it was a citrus.

Yes, I've seen them, and they are bound to be the strangest fruit around. We have to pay more for the unusual ones because they don't import many.
