I live in WA, known for their apples but I have not heard of or seen a "grapple" until your article. I also didn't know what a longan tree was, so had to google to read about it.

Wow, you've really provided a lot of info here!

I agree with Jerri...lots of great information that you've provided here in an easy-to-read, and digest, manner.

I found it kind of sad and ironic that though as consumers increasingly seek organic foods, people-less tractors will soon be running the fields.

If you like grapes, you'll love grapples, which are grape-flavored apples. They showed up early on in my supermarket.
Longans are sometimes available in upscale shops.

Yes, mechanization is very sad. That is the trend in greenhouses too because labor is either unavailable or more expensive than what the owners want to pay.

Are you in the eastern US, Connie? We don't always get new items right away. I'm really surprised at not having "grapples" here, as apples are a big agricultural product here.

Yes, North Carolina. In the advertising flyer from my supermarket I noticed there was a blurb about the grapples, and made it a point to see what they were like. I imagine they were available sooner on the west coast.

Probably, but not in my neck of the woods.
