I agree wholeheartedly with the praise you've written for Emmitt Smith. I've always been impressed with his football skills, but his attributes as a human being are awe-inspiring.

I've never admired the sports figures who are "hotdogs," the ones who toot their own horns so loudly and so often that no one else can compete with them--anyone can do that. It takes a mature individual, a man in this case, to allow his skills to speak for themselves and to quietly go about his community activities without needing a public slap on the back.

Emmitt Smith is just such a man and I can only hope there will be young men who want to follow in his footsteps.
