Great article, as usual! Do I understand correctly, English Heritage is in control of most historic sites in the U.K. and open them to the public only once a year like Brading, and they would be closed to site-seers the rest of the time? Then one would have to accidently be at a certain site on a particular day when English Heritage happened to have it open to the public to view in order to see most historic places. Is that correct? I look forward to reading the next installment of your day at Brading Villa.
