I haven't a clue about what it would be. I am just thankful the Lord saw fit in His wisdom to put me here at all! "Bloom where you are planted", you know. Thanks for your visit. BTW, on Sept. 4th I have an article going up on one of my Quaker ancestors, who was disowned for keeping and playing a fiddle. You might find that one interesting. From today and through September, I am doing family folktales.-- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Dan_Ellsworth - Now that we have a Quaker topic, maybe we can find out if that's Now that we have a Quaker topic, maybe we can find out if that's still a risk - though personally, I like the idea of a guitar-playing Quaker at a campfire.Dan Ellsworth (e-mail, bio), Editor, "Christianity - Protestant" -- posted by Dan_Ellsworth » Dubh_Sidhe - Virginia Marin - May be, Dan. AT THAT TIME IT WAS BEING LOOKED OVER BY A CARETAKER. HE TOLD US ABOUT THE SPIRITS THAT ROAMED THE PROPERTY. HE EVEN TOLD US A STORY ABOUT HIM FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS AND BEING CAUGHT AT THE BOTTOM. NO ONE WAS THERE AND HE DIDN'T RECEIVE A SCRATCH. THIS IS A COLONIAL HOUSE WITH A VERY LARGE STAIRCASE. MY AUNT,WHOM HAD VISITED HOUSE BEFORE,TOLD US A STORY OF GREAT INTEREST. WHILE THERE THEY WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A CARRIAGE PULLING UP TO THE HOUSE.THERE WAS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR, THE CARETAKERS WIFE ANSWERED THE DOOR. A VERY TALL WOMEN ENTERED THE HOUSE PROCEEDED DOWN THE HALL AND DISAPPEARED. I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE THIS STORY. GOODBYE FOR NOW. -- posted by AFBS17A » Dubh_Sidhe - Ah, yes, John... thank you so much for your addition. And like other ghost phenomena this one, is vowed to be no story! Thanks for stopping by, and come often. Do you have any other Babb or related stories?-- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Red - fantastic story... Virginia,This is a fantastic story. I am glad I found this through Tina's article on Henniker. I found it very interesting that the pirate was able to find his mother's namesake after all these years. Had he kept track of the baby girl who had so touched his heart, or was it strictly coinicidence that they both settled in Henniker? I would love to visit that house and will keep it in mind for the next time I visit New Hampshire. -- posted by Red » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: fantastic story... In response to message posted by Red:Thank you, Mary. It is said that one of my cousins, I think, 3 or 4 times removed is actually in possession of the trunk. I used to have photographs of it, but was unable to locate them when I wrote the article. A beautiful old sea trunk, however, with the metal bands around it. There is so much history in Henniker, I could stay there forever doing research, and aren't we lucky to have Tina! -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe
