» Tina_Coruth - Very deep Hi Virginia,Wow -- this is a very deep article and very well written. I have no answer to the questions you pose. It seems to me that the basic messages are the same -- to guide civilization to love. Sometimes I wonder if the different religions, the different prophets are meant to reach different people -- each representing a different language of sorts. For instance, if you say the word love, you must use a different word depending on the language of the person you are speaking to. You can use a hundred different words, but they all mean the same thing -- yet the different words are necessary to reach all the people. I don't know if this makes any sense. You sure get me to thinking! Excellent article. Thank you. -- posted by Tina_Coruth » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Very deep In response to message posted by Tina_Coruth:Well, thank you Tina. I enjoyed doing this one very much. Yes, I do know what you mean. I guess the basic difference is that the Hebrew prophets were divinely inspired to communicate God's will to His people and included the exposition and application of the Law. I believe Dan or Dov would correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all of the Hebrew prophets went only to the Jews. Paul, an apostle, and not a prophet in the sense of the word, was the only one sent to the Gentiles. He was of pure Jewish descent, but from his father earned the right to Roman citizenship. To study the function and purpose of Mohammed would be an interesting research project, but for me to delve into his life further, for folklore, would be outside of my topic! Thanks for your visit! I gotta run over to your house now... -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Renie_Burghardt - Nabi Hi Virginia, what a fascinating article. It really does make one think. Prophecy is likely a combination of all the things you mention. I could do a more thorough explanation of my views on the subject, but then, it may make some people mad! So I'd better not. I did enjoy the article. Thank you. Take care. Renie-- posted by Renie_Burghardt » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Nabi In response to message posted by Renie_Burghardt:Aw! Come on, Renie. I and others would love to hear your views. But at any rate, I appreciate your visit. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: You really captivated me In response to message posted by jerrib:Hi there, Jerri. And you know, I was just thinking of the word "prognosticators" and their dire predictions for the future, as well as for our relative present, in magazines like Globe, etc. I simply cannot help but stop and read them, and afterwards glad that I am able to forget them so quickly. August at last! Halloween stuff is out here! Thanks for stopping by and posting. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: food for thought...
