» Red - Considering The Sidhe

Virginia, another delightful and educational article. I have learned a lot about Sidhes here today.

Faeries have always been something I've been interested in. Possibly because of my Irish ancestry.

The graphic is delightful. Thanks for sharing this knowledge. I really enjoyed my visit.

Hi Virginia,
What a wonderful article. I enjoyed reading it very much. The graphic is beautiful! Now lest anyone doubt the existence of the sidhe, they should take heed from these words of a nineteenth century Irishman,"I don't believe in fairies, but they're there." And what a rich history they have! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Tina

Hey, Tina! I do love that quote! Happy Day to you and thanks for stopping by.

You know, I was having somewhat of an unpleasant conversation today with a home-bound relative, and after a stressful back and forth with her
I said, "...I do love you but I just can't enter into your strange world. I can't act out in your world."

I guess it is like that with the fairy world, too, but just imagining fairy is really fun and it is so different from my relative's self-imposed world of fear and isolation.

Hi Virginia! What a charming and informative article. And I love the graphic. She is lovely. Are fairies always lovely? Must be. That's why they are fairies.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Virginia. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I!

In response to message posted by Renie_Burghardt:

No, unfortunately not, Renie. There are very grotesque fairies like the Fir Darrig, Cluricaun, Gobline, Knockers, Kobolds, Wichtlein, Pixies, Bogies and Pooka and others--all fairies--images right out of Dante's Inferno.

That is why it is my belief that these beings do exist, but I believe they are the fallen angels who rebelled, with Lucifer, against God.

Thanks for your visit. Appreciate it! Have a pleasant Sunday!

Excellent article, and from a slightly different slant than I've seen before. Lough Gur is one of my favorite places, since many of my ancestors are from Kilmallock.

Thanks!
