I am CE for the Farscape topic. The leading man of Farscape, Ben Browder, is a North Carolina native. Since the show is filmed in Australia, he misses a lot of things. One of them, he says, is moonpies (along with sweet tea and Cheerwine). Fans tried to get a case of moonpies sent to him, but I don't know if they succeeded.Farscape was just cancelled...much like Star Wars, this epic tale was well on it's way to becoming party of the mythology of the 21st century, but now the story has no end. Please drop by the topic and see what you can do to help get the show picked up by another network. Thanks for the article...I'm going to link to it and tell Scapers about it. I am now craving moonpies...next time I am in Manhattan, I'll stop at a deli and pick them up! Jackie D. Gannuscio -- posted by uisceboo » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Great Article about Moonpies! Regarding Moon Pies, I am not sure what it is, but when one bites into one, there is a burst of flavor that is so delightful--the chocolate ones, of course. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Great Article about Moonpies! In response to message posted by uisceboo:Thank you for the link. Appreciate it. I have never watched Farscape but I think I have seen the commercials for it in the past. I used to watch StarTrek in its beginning, but when they lost control of enough reality to ground me, I lost interest. I will drop by your topic. Thanks. They aren't readily available around here (Dallas), but when we went east this summer, we bought a moon pie in eastern Tennessee. Is it my imagination, or are they smaller than they used to be? It's that experience of sinking your teeth into chocolate covered marshmallow with a little bit of crunch from the graham cracker that's unforgetable. It sort of sticks to the roof of your mouth. That's why they go so well with an "R-oh-C" cola. (Royal Crown) Thanks for the memories, Virginia. I loved your article and the links. And I learned about their origin, which I didn't know. In response to message posted by Fort_Spunky:I have not had a Moon Pie in awhile, Linda, but only because of the calories! LOL! Your description is quite accurate and with an RC Cola--like you say, nothing is better, or more coloric! -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Renie_Burghardt - Legend of the Moon Pie What a lovely tale, Virginia. A good deed well rewarded! I don't believe I have ever seen a Moon Pie, but will have to look for them now, even though I don't need the calories either! But one bite can't hurt, or can it?I enjoyed the Legend of the Moon Pie. Thank you. Hope you and Little Bear are doing well! -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » Dubh_Sidhe - Re: Legend of the Moon Pie In response to message posted by Renie_Burghardt:Hee! Hee! Well, the trouble with one bite, is no one can take only one bite! It is virtually impossible! There is something about the "twang" that stimulates the taste buds in that first bite that leads to an empty wrapper. It is an indescribable flavor that begs for the next bite, and the next, and so on and so forth. Glad you enjoyed the legend, and Little Bear sends you a big sweet woof-woof... -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe
