» Renie_Burghardt - Lady Bugs!

Hi Virginia, what a neat article on Lady Bugs. Did you know that sometimes they try to hibernate in houses, too? Or at least they tried in my house, last fall! Dozens of them.

Yes indeed, Lady Bugs are our allies, and I'm always pleased to see them hard at work in my vegetable garden.

Most informative and enjoyable, Dubh Sidhe!

» Dubh_Sidhe - Hi Reni!

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, indeed, and I have had them inside in the past, especially on the window sills. I have seen a yellow one, oh, perhaps three times in my life.

» Tina_Coruth - Ladybugs everywhere!

Lady bugs everywhere! For the past four years we have been invaded by ladybugs during the fall. They "huddle" in the corners of the room up near the ceiling. Although the numbers seem to have decreased this past fall, the first three years our house looked like scenes out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. There were thousands of them. As a result, I have seen many yellow ones.

They are a nuisance inside, but we don't mind too much -- except when the occasional ladybug goes berserk and dive bombs anyone sitting near a light!

Great article, Virginia. The links were informative too. Thanks!

» Renie_Burghardt - Well,

I have seen a bunch of yellow ones, Virginia. They look just like other Lady Bug's, but the ones in my garden were actually munching on my young plants. They destroyed the eggplant! Someone said they are a beetle that looks like a lady bug, but is in fact a very destructive bug, and not at all a real lady bug. Have you heard of them? I hope they don't show up this year!

» Dubh_Sidhe - Orange lady bugs?

Hi Reni! One of my links tells about different kinds of lady bugs and other lady-like beetles, but can't remember which one right off the top of my head. When I get a chance, I will try to find it for you. If you grow eggplant, you must have a favorite recipe, right? Thanks for your visit!
