Did you know we have Suquqmish Indians in WA - wonder if the tribes are related?

Hi Jerri
The Squamish Indians and Suquqmish Indians were part of what anthropologists call the Coast Salish Indians, whose territory ranged from Puget Sound all the way up to Bute Inlet. I don't think that the early researchers were co-ordinated as far place names and tribal names were concerned. Frank Boas referred to the Seattle Coast Salish people as Quwutsun.

I found a useful website and pasted it into my article. http://www.squamish.net/main.html">Squamish
Thanks.
Larry

Thanks for the info, Larry. By the way, I put one too many "q's" in the spelling. It's Suquamish.
