» swg - Picking up the baton

Hi Paula - it's a while since I had a look at Suite 101 but I was pleased and surprised that folk music is now a live topic again - and you're still using my mandolin on the main page!

I don't know much about Yacoub, although I did see the Alan Stivelll band at the City Hall in Newcastle in my youth and I have Malicorne on a cassette which I was given - I didn't realise it was his band.

Sounds as if I've got a bit of catching up to do. Good luck with the topic, I'll certainly subscribe.

Steve

Hey Steve,
Looks like I've got some big shoes to fill here! Thanks for your support. I also first heard of Yacoub through Malicorne, and then later through the song "Les Choses Les Plus Simples" ("The Simple Things We Said") which was sung by Joan Baez (and Maxime Le Forestier) on a French release. All of Malicorne's albums are available through Yacoub's website.
