» Barcode1000 - PAY IT...Zzzzzzzz
Yeah, watching this movie was like being beaten to death with a video of an After-School Special. I honestly can't see how anyone looked at this movie before it's release and said, "Yep, that's about right." Seriously, the creators of this film all need a great big Stooge slap.-- posted by Barcode1000

In response to message posted by Barcode1000:Exactly. I had a customer at the video store I work in the other day who asked me, "Can you recommend any other films like PAY IT FORWARD?" Instead of saying Something trite? I replied, "You mean something... uh... dramatic?" She scoffed and said, "Something spiritually uplifting." I think she noticed the expression on my face, though, and wandered off before I got the chance to blurt out, "RESERVIOR DOGS!". Because, come on, who ISN'T spirtually uplifted by a four-way death by shooting scene?

In response to message posted by Yoyi:First, thanks for posting, and thanks for reading my article. My reviews tend to be harsh, but I stand behind my opinions. If anyone is in the minority it would be me. Critially PAY IT FORWARD was attacked for it's weepy silliness. But commercially the response for it was great.

» TrubbleOne - First time seeing this movie.
As I watched this movie I found myself wondering if this would actually work or if it was based on any kind of truth. I immediately searched the web and found not only web-sites dedicated to this principle, but a foundation solely based on the principle that helping people is infectious. The book is based, I feel, on an age old line: RAK or Random Acts of Kindness. Oprah Winfrey is a big believer, supporter and facilitator of random acts. Just think what would happen if people really started believing they could change the world by offering a simple act of kindness upon another living sole. Only the greedy would feel this is a waste of time because they would have the thought in the back of their heads: What's in it for me? Therefore, I propose a challenge. I challenge any of you who read this to pick three people, offer some kind of help either large or small and if they ask what they can do in return tell them to "pay it forward". Explain yourself if necessary, but I really do not think that you will. Stop thinking about what you are going to get out of it. Stop thinking you need to see the change. Above all else, do not, for one second, believe that you will reap the rewards as the characters in the movie did because it will not happen that way.-- posted by TrubbleOne
