In response to message posted by b1hawi53:

The Saskatchewan Voice of People with Disabilities has an application guide on their website. I do not have the address on hand but I think it is www.saskvoice.ca I would also get in touch with the Advocacy Research Center for the Handicapped in Toronto and they may be able to give you some leads on advocates in Ontario. One lady I am familiar with is Hilliary Balmer from Rainet at (905) 852-2676. Allison Schmidt, Disability Claims Advocacy Clinic (306) 352-6221

» TysonLow - Disability

I don't know if you all remember me I have been away for so long, computer crashed had to wait for my daughter to come from the States and set it right. Then I just could not afford to pay for inter net,my pets needed there check up first.

I had to help look after my Mom until her passing poor Mom is resting in peace now still trying to clean her room.

I see there are still so many trying to get there CPP all I can say is hang in there don't give up cry kick do what you have to do but don't give up.

I will have to go for mine latter, now I want my Inc. company to pay up first, I am at the point I had my mediation that is were you meet the Inc. companies Rep & Lawyer you have your lawyer with you to.

The Inc. company lawyer will ask you to explain a few things that they have found and you have to do this to the best of your memory.

After that you go to your own board room and we had a lady she was very nice she doesn't work for you or the Inc Com. she is from the court just to be a go between the poor thing is like a rubber ball all day she goes back and forth, she try to get us to come down on a buyout and the Inc. com to go up.

This is were I stand today I told them there offer was not enough and my lawyer took over I came home.
I should hear from my lawyer this Friday if they will not give me what I want or close then we go to court.

I came home cried like a baby slept for a hole day now I am rested and ready for a fight.

I am telling you this so if you have to go through this don't get stressed out really if I would have had someone tell me what it would have been like, I would have had two good nights of sleep rather then walk the floors like I did, it helps to have a good lawyer.

My lawyer is well known in the Fibromyalgia field, his wife has the same illness.

I do hope you all can forgive me for being away so long. Take care

Hi Tyson.

I take it that you live in Canada also. I am at the stage where the Ins. is not accepting my condition as per: their Dr. Their Dr. told me that if a Dr. doesn't know what is wrong with you...that he calls it Fibromyalgia. I am sunk right now as my GP is sick himself, and not expected back to work. I am trying very hard to find a GP, especially one that believes in Fibro. The Ins. is having a heyday at my expense due to my unfortunate circumstances.

I have obtained a lawyer, and am meeting with him on Monday. I am hoping very much that he can help me, because I, as most people fighting Ins. Co's, am ready to give up...but refuse to! I cry a lot these days too now. They have made me return to work and it isn't working out at all. I am calling in sick, more than I am attending work.

It's good to hear from people that make one realize that there IS hope. I don't know where you live, but you can e-mail me at Rocksy@suite101.com anytime, and give me a hand. I would love to hear from someone dealing with this in Canada.

Keep your chin up, and stay in touch. Why don't you join our group over in Holistic Therapy...Fibromyalgia Friends discussion. We would love to have you over there. I will post the URL for you. We have a great group, and really do wonders for each others morale smile

Please come on over

I don't know were you live sorry, yes dump him but please find another first.
My last Doc. took 5 months and still didn't fill in the forms it's was because of him that I was cut off in the first place, the Inc. company just loved him.

We do have a good news letter it's called Quest it's out of Ottawa Ont. they have a page on there site with names of Doc.and Lawyers here in Canada.

Sorry I don't know how to add the site,I am not to good with this computer thing at all,it's been so long since I signed up on this form but I think you can click on my name and my e-mail add will show up and I can send it to you OK please add Suite 101 I don't want another Virus.

Hi M-- Now were did I hear that before ha ha they told me there was no such thing as Fibromyalgia and they don't except that as a illness.

Now how come they are willing to give me a settlement to get rid of me now, (no way near what I want and need to live on ).

That's OK I will see them in court,I do know they will come up with one more offer just before court, they will think this old doll has been through the ringer with Doc. and test and I might be willing to settle for less.

They might be right I will be weak and down but they don't know what I am made of,yes I will cry and end up in bed but when I get up I come up fighting.

You hang in there I hope your lawyer is well up on FM and dose right by you, please keep us posted and don't give up never give up. Tyson

In response to message posted by fairview:

Yes fairview...dump him but get another first and make sure that he/she believes in an is willing to help you with fibro.
My Dr. dawdled so long with me, that I had to get a referral to a Rheumatologist myself. Now my Dr. is ill and not returning to work and I am in a real lurch. I have found a Dr. to see and am hoping that she believes in it and is willing to help. If not...then the search continues. The Ins. Dr. is a total a**hole that does NOT believe in fibro, so of courst the Ins. Co. (thru work) just LOVES him.

Yes the fight is on, and even though I would love to just give up I WILL NOT.

Never take the first offer! fight for what is yours!
I know someone personally that fought and won a HUGE settlement...so forge ahead and keep in touch.

Click on the URL in my last post and come on over to meet the Fibro Gang...we would love to have you. It's a wonderful support group. smile
