» Jausten - MP's

Leas,

Don't just talk to the secretary. Ask to speak directly to your MP. You may have to fax a letter to him/her, but it is your right to speak directly to him/her.

Cynthia

Are you strictly an advocate for Canadians? I just got all the paperwork together this week for a long term disability in the US. They approvedf short term disability with no problem because, luckily for me, another faculty member was already on long term disability for fibro. But I have already heeded your words - don't fight it myself if they say no.

Leas, the whole CPP process is unfair and exhausting. I've been fighting them for almost 7 years. You've got to remember that you're fighting the "system" here and that you can't do it alone. You need a representative or a lawyer who is familiar with the process. You said that you were refused twice? Did you apply to go before a Tribunal? I'm past that stage. Having been refused at the Tribunal, I am now going before a court and judges to have my final appeal heard in May. Don't give up. That's what they are hoping you'll do. If I can help you at all, let me know. You can email me at mare7@home.com. PS: You don't have to be accepted for CPP in order to apply for the Disability Tax Credit. You can call Revenue Canada and ask them to mail you the form and then have your doctor fill it out for you prior to submitting it to Revenue Canada. Good luck. Mare

» leas - Big note of Thanks

Just a big note of thanks to all those who are willing to help. It definitely uplifts the spirit to know one is not alone. I will keep up the fight with CPP as I have the energy, we all know what that's like from day to day. For all of you who are traveling the same path I am, I have found HOPE here amongst friends.

» b1hawi53 - Applying for CPP Disability

Nov. 29/00

Hello,

I would like some help in filling out the CPP disability form. You can advise me on the important sections, and what medical information is critical for the application. I would also appreciate any other advise regarding CPP.
This will be my second application as the first time they believe my fibromyalgia and depression were not severe enough. At present my whole back is so sore and my knees won't take me anywhere. I am also suffering with chronic depression.
Thank you,

Sandra Medford

» b1hawi53 - CPP Disability Application

Hi,

I have had fibromyalgia since 1997. I applied for CPP but was turned down because they considered it was not severe enough. I am going to reapply and I could do with some help regarding the information to fill in. I also suffer with chronic depression, MVA back injuries upper and lower, carpal tunnel, high blood pressure I have not been able to work since finishing college in 1997. I was involved in 3 MVA,December 1995, 1997 and 1998. I have had no income since 1998 and am financially strapped. This has caused a breakdown in my marriage and my family life. I would also appreciate any information regarding a CPP Disability Advocate in Toronto or Mississauga.

Thank you

Sandra Medford
