» Carol Wallace - Re: magnetic back support In response to message posted by energynow:Actually, I popped into the local pharmacy today in search of my secret addiction - honey roasted macadamia nuts - and sure enough they also had the back brace with the magnets. So I bought one. I haven't put it on yet but will soon. I hope it helps with gardening because I sure didn't enjoy it yesterday. In fact, I find this kind of scary but all I did yesterday was a little bit - maybe 15 minutes - of lopping branches. Not hard ones where I had to exert a lot of pressure - old, dried hollow stems, mostly. I usded the loppers, which are ergonomically engineered and have won awards for their design - because I didn't want to have to bend, as I would with the pruning shears. (All my tools are ergonomic - I did a lot of writing about that after I was diagnosed and several companies sent me their best stuff to try and then write about). But today both of my arms are misbehaving radically. I tried to lift a bottle of Snapple to my lips to take a sip and the lower arm practically spasmed. My little finger keeps trying to curl up on the left hand. The right is only marginally better. I think we're actually going to have to hire somebody to at least get the season started. And wouldn't you know it - I found two giant cartons of plants on the porch this morning - one of the perks for writing for a plant company - but a bit of a burden at the moment. I haven't even opened them. ;-( Mike - did I find you in Alpines & Bulbs? It's been so long, but I've always had this notion that I met you through Gary. Gary does good deeds for everybody! -- posted by Carol Wallace
