Tamara;
You can also make moon tea & rain tea... Just start off with warm to hot water...

That sounds good also! Often drinking something hot & or "spiked" up will cool you down more than an iced drink, it levels your core temp. So... it is good for warming up in the winter as well as cooling down in the summer. Cheers!

I've always found that to be true - that hot drinks seem cooling in the end. Trouble is caffeine increases sensitivity to heat - so make it decaf. ;-)

Not coping with H and H(hot and hellish); just gave up and doing as little as possible. I feel like a desert lizard flicking its tonuge out to get a taste of moisture. Joyce

There is a discussion on cooling things in the American dinnerware topic and someone mentioned a neckband that has gel crystals in it that you soak in cold water and it keeps you cool.No one seemed to know what it was called but I went to ebay and typed in "neck, cool gel" and came up with a bunch of them - ordered a nice plain white one for $5 and free shipping. If it works I'll let you all know - but idiot me paid by check so it may be a while.

Carol: Had one of those things a few years back. While not 100% effective, they do help. You were wise to get a white one. The one I had was turquoise, and every time it was soaked in cold water, the dye bled into the water. The downside of these things is that eventually the gel will evaporate over time. But, that may have been my own fault, as it was stored in the refrigerator. If you receive instructions on storage of these things, follow them well. Not sure that I did. Perhaps they need to be kept inside a plastic bag as well to avoid evaporation.

Good luck with yours and let us know how you like it.

Well, I'm glad to hear there was an intelligent reason for my choosing white. I just ordered it to go with my summer wardrobe. ;-) There were instructions on the site where I ordered it and I hope she tucks it into the actual package as well. But if the crystals are at all accessible I can add more. I buy the same thing for plants, as they can slowly release moisture back into drying soil.
