» energynow - www.adrenalfatigue.com Adrenal Fatigue The 21st Century Stress Syndromeis a book that the coupounding pharmacist recommended to me when I consulted with him. If you go to this website, you'll find that FM is one of many ailments listed that can result from This book is written by James L. Wilson who is a naturopathic dr., chiropractor and PHd. He's apparently not the same James Wilson whose name is attributed to Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome. He is an M.D. and his full name is James D. Wilson. Only sites that sell his products or related snake oil even mention it other than book selling sites. He's on several "Quack Watch" lists. NO Adrenal organizations or Endocrinology sites even bother to discuss adrenal fatigue...it is simply a creation of the man's imagination. -- posted by Skull13 » gruvytune - Re: Re: Re: www.adrenalfatigue.com are you a physician? i'm in primary care, and after really keeping an open mind and looking at the literature, it is obvious that such a condition exists. its amazing how many patients walk in fitting the exact syndrome stereotype yet get labelled depressed or stressed. Most doctors lump them into some general group like that and treat symptoms only with antidepressants without the patient actually getting better. the pharmaceutical industry and insurance companies have taken the art and thinking out of medicine and treat everything from a single lab/study, single bullet approach. we have really regressed at a pace faster than our technology is progressing. perhaps the 2 ends will come together as the circle revolves? -- posted by gruvytune » energynow - www.adrenalfatigue.com In response to Re: Re: Re: www.adrenalfatigue.com posted by gruvytune:No, I'm not a physician. I hold a B.A. in English and am an avid researcher. I think drs. have a lot to learn. Many of them have tunnel vision I think.I'm glad to see that you have kept an open mind. Thank you. -- posted by energynow » tamara_peters - Re: www.adrenalfatigue.com In response to www.adrenalfatigue.com posted by energynow:Jean, I'm so glad to still see you here. I just realized that I don't have your new e-mail addy in my Fibro Friends' list. I'm so sorry, but I seem to have lost it again. Will you please send it to me again so I can be sure to add it this time? Hey, and we haven't seen you at the new place yet. Hope you'll stop by soon 'cause we miss you. "New" problems are very interesting for different specialities hoping to claim it and its profits for their own eg the "fight" over CFS. Adrenal insufficiency has fatigue as one of its symptoms: For those interested in quality medical journals, here is a discussion of a man with a long term undiagnosed adrenal insufficiency which got the name Allgrove Syndrome: From other stuff I've read today, there's a "..short synacthen test (that) excluded adrenal insufficiency." And nothing suggests it new to the 21st century unless there's an increased incidence or diagnosis of it now??? Jeff -- posted by dinkidi
