Joyce: Sounds like everything came all at once for you. Isn't paperwork ever fun??

All kinds of "laws" governing the donation of food. That's too bad, when there are others in need.

Tamara: Will be watching and looking forward to it.

Thanksgiving was nice, but hate to say this: Could have done better at home. Next year will do just that. Wasn't ambitious enough to have a go at it this year.

Seems like the drastic change in weather even is affecting those that don't even have fibro. Saw the kids tonight, and both of them felt achy as well, and they're only in their mid-twenties.

Going to take off now and finish a book that I have been reading off and on all week. Nothing great, just one of those romance novels that I like. Too many reruns on tv lately, and I don't mean all the holiday movies which are classics in themselves, but all the other drivel that seems to be on. One can do only so much HGTV, Food channel and A&E you know.

Hope everyone rests up well over the weekend.

Tery, seems like such a waste of time to me to be going around just changing the name of everything.

Yes, but the URL would only help if it had been bookmarked. Otherwise, I think we're being buried so deep that no one will be able to find us.

I thought I did put a note in that blog. I'll have to check it out again, or just delete it.

Please don't mention leftovers. I don't have any. ;-)

Hi, Joyce. Yes, that's what I noticed as well. Hopefully, all the names get put back correctly. I had several guest articles by other authors as well.

If any of that work is reused, and not attributed to the correct author, then that would be copyright infringement and plagiarism.

Hopefully, that won't try to do that. :O

Sorry to hear you're sick. Sounds like your weather on turkey day was as exciting as ours, though.

I'm hoping to start wrapping today. All I have left to buy for is my son, his girlfriend, and the baby. smile

Loni, even though we enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner, I found that I really missed the traditional fare. I think next year I'll go that route even if it's just us again.

Do you watch Rachael Ray? I printed out her five minute fudge wreath recipe the other day and thought I would try it. Her stuff is always so easy and quick to do.

I just finished a Michael Crichton book, State of Fear, which I liked very much. Two nights in a row, as I was reading and watching the news, the news mentioned exactly what I was reading about. It's about Eco-terrorism, and provided much food for thought.

Temps down in the teens and low 20's last night. Brrrr!

A variant of W32/Sober.gen@MM, W32/Sober@MM!M681 is another mass-mailing worm hiding inside a spam email attachment. When run, the virus displays a fake error message, infects the host computer then sends itself to stolen email addresses. Note: VirusScan users with the latest DAT file are protected from this threat.

I've received the above worm several times in the last few days. Thankfully, my virus scan has removed it every time so far.

Also, they came as attachments which of course I didn't open. smile

Have a great day, everyone...

» tamara_peters - Dust Mites? Yuck!

Here's an interesting article I just read.

Now I'm going to stuff all my pillows into the dryer today. LOL

Seriously, looks like something to be aware of - especially for those with allergies and sensitivities like ours.

Hmmm, it doesn't say how long you have to dry them so I'll see if I can find that info.

» Skull13 - And the shopping continues...wish I had money too!

Diva...The weathah sounds atrocious! Do you do monthly self-exams at all? You have had mammograms before, right?

As for them removing your name, complain and if that doesn't work, threaten legal action. You can't be squeezed out like that from things you wrote/edited.

Don't think you are being vocal enough. Raise the roof with your complaining till the fix this mistake here. Otherwise, copy everything and lets move somewhere else!

Tery...The Inn only advertised around Thanksgiving and Easter other than in the Yellow Pages. Of course they now have a website...
http://www.threevillageinn.com/

Like Tamara, you should complain and threaten till they correct things that have your name on them or should have your name on them.

Joyce..."Thanksgiving: Power went off 4 times, fire alarm went off but not fire, sick as a dog, got the Christmas presents I bought wrapped."

What a nightmare! Hope you are feeling better today.

I neither slept from my turkey nor went shopping. If I had money, I'd have been out there with the crowds though...I love doing that stuff.

Loni...Donating prepared foods is verboten but canned goods are always welcome...as long as the cans are in good condition and the food in them hasn't expired. Many people try to unload dented cans and/or out of date foods...sad isn't it?

Jeanne used to volunteer in the short lived homeless shelter we had near us. Often she and Justin would go together. They'd spend an hour or so going through the donated food and end up throwing out more than half of it...people would even donate half empty boxes of cereal!

Diva...Thanks to Peter, I have all the latest protections and I don't get any spam in my regular mail...not for more than two months!

Oh the inhumanity! You killed all those poor defenseless dust mites...and their families!

Tamara - It is absurd and wrong that is for sure. But I looked around and all the other FW's has their names on the articles. I wonder if they just made an error with yours. Maybe you can email Joy and mention it to her.

Don - Threatening legal action is a waste of time. For one reason, I don't have the money to do it and for another reason, when one threatens they should act on it or it then becomes harrassment.

The best thing to do Tamara is print out ALL of your articles a little at a time. I was printing them out as I wrote them and published them. So, I am not too far behind:-) I have to print out a lot, but not too much.

We can still POST in our article/discussion area, so maybe we can post something to the readers letting them know that WE are in fact the Original Writers!

I didn't like how they changed the Column Title. That was wrong. My Celebrating Life Column is filled with articles about "Celebrating Life!" And they changed it to "Inspirational Readings." Hello?

I didn't do any shopping during Black Friday. I never do. It is just too busy and crazy for me. I cannot be bothered. The things I get anyway doesn't really call for discounts because I get my daughter's Gift Certificates mainly.

My son, on the other hand, is so young that a lot of his stuff is cheap no matter what:-)

I bought a book called, "The Christmas Shoes." Has anyone heard the song? OMG! It is so good and sad, I cry every time I hear it. It is about a little boy who wants to buy shoes for his mom who has cancer and when he goes to pay for it, he doesn't have enough money, so the guy on line next to him gives him the change needed to make the amount. So sad! I get goose bumps all the time when I hear the song, and now I bought the book.

It is cold here for SC. In the low 50's, but it is windy!

My family is still out visiting and we are suppose to go to the Tangier Outlets. Brrr...the only thing about the outlets is that you have to go in and out to get to stores. Too cold!

Don - I didn't know that Jeanne lived in Mastic Beach, too. How long did she live there? What is her last name? Wouldn't it be funny if I knew her? Where in Mastic Beach did you live? What did you live near? Give me some destinations and landmarks, so I could picture it. I know it very well as I lived there for nearly 21 years.

Well I gots to go. Have a great day and a pain free day everyone!

Tamara - I have been searching the halls here at Suite101 and you seem to be the only name deleted from your articles and columns. I wonder if it is just a common error?

We could still start a discussion within our columns, I would mention this...someone will read itsmile

I LOVE Rachael Ray! I watch her all the time. She is awesome. My son loves her, too. I have one of her cookbooks and have cooked some of her stuff. Easy and fast and very tasty that is for sure:-)

I watch the Food Network Show here in SC...not too many people have this station, but we do here in SC. At least we are up to date with some things...LOL

I was talking with a Southern Friend of mine who is originally from Charlotte, NC and she had NO idea what Bake Ziti was...I nearly died. LOL

I love it and cannot stand it when people call pasta "Noodles." This drives this Italian girl nuts. LOL

We learn from each other...she mentioned some southern foods that sound really good. So, we are going to make each other our traditional foods that neither one of us has tasted...should be interesting.

Well I am off to cleaning my house, once again before my in-laws come over. They are staying at a condo, which is nice. No one stays here at the house anymore...LOL I kinda like it that way:-)

Hi Terry, all the authors in the Four Fibromyalgia Sections had the authors deleted. Carol's name was deleted from her articles here but not from the ones in the gardening section. So it sounds as if someone either did this section first or they made a big error.

The worm has been attached to mails from fbi.gov saying you have visited illegal sites so don't open any of these. My email caught them, but then my virus protector went off. Back on now.

Beautiful day today. Slight wind but much warmer, just need only a jacket and hat not the full blown cold weather regalia.

Everyone is still trying to understand the new insurance problems. I am just going to get a supplement through work and then the prescription plan that has the cheapest out of pocket costs for the year and then change if needed during the year. Can't afford to wait much longer as hubby's coverage stops february 5 and I know it takes almost 6 weeks to get things settled.

I go for a bunch of tests this week and hubby goes the next week. ONe more insurance meeting to go to. At least we will get two meals out of this deal..

Talk to you all later.

You're right, Joyce.

All the names, mine, guest authors, etc., were removed from all the fibro topics.

I finally decided to e-mail the new Editor in Chief, Joy Guegler, and find out what was up with that.

Funny thing is I had to remove my own name from the Health COI, a while ago, 'cause it was still there as the CM.

Yup, that's the exact message of one of the e-mails I received and my virus scan caught.

It was supposedly from the FBI. LOL

It's snowing here again, but it looks pretty light and fluffy. Don't imagine it will amount to much. smile

Good luck trying to understand all those new policy plans. Looks like a nightmare to me. :O

Oh, and good luck to you and hubby on your upcoming tests. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they all come out good.

Tery, I'm hoping it was just some kind of error as well. I'll let you all know, though, if and when I get a response from Joy.

I think I may have to look for one of her cookbooks also. Fast, easy, and simple is where I'm at these days. LOL

I love baked ziti, but I don't make it too often 'cause Richard doesn't like it that well. He's a picky eater. Argh!

Sounds like you and your southern friend have a good idea. smile

I know what you mean about having company. It sure does create stress.

Don, it was a screwy weathah day for sure. LOL

Yes, I do exams, and I started have mammograms in my early 30's. I'm just a little overdue this time, that's all. sad

I have copied some stuff. It's just so time consuming, though. :O

Wish I'd gotten the links before those were pulled.

I've decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and have written a "nice" e-mail inquiring about the removal of every author's name in all the fibro topics.

I'll wait and see what kind of response I get before raising the roof. ;-)

It's weird 'cause I wasn't getting any spam for some time either, but now I am.

Still no word from my computer guy. Guess I'll try him again on Monday. sad

Yup, I've been on a dust mite killing frenzy today. LOL All it took was one look at a picture of those teeny, tiny arachnids and I was horrified. :O

Yesterday, I got all my inside decorating for Christmas done. Well, except for the tree.

My cards are all made out, addressed, stamped, and waiting to be mailed on Dec. 1st. I'm waaay ahead of the game this year. smile

Going for my annual shopping trip the 2nd with two of my cousins, and that should be the end of it.

I'm sticking to a budget this year come hell or high water. LOL

Tery...Threatening legal action is so commonplace these days that it is only harassment if you do it repeatedly to the same party or parties.

The Christmas Shoes is one of the most played songs on the radio. It was made into a movie with Rob Lowe and the one who plays the younger sister on "According to Jim." Beautiful song and sappy movie.

Jeanne was the one who actually live in Mastic Beach...for about 12 years. I only lived there for the last 6 months or so I was on Long Island.
Her name then was Pastor. 311 Cypress Drive was the address.

Joyce...I'm lucky that I don't qualify for the Medicare plans....what a nightmare!

Diva...Can't let time pass when you are considering your health. You should know that from the Fibro if nothing else!!! Get to your squeezin'!!! That's what Jeanne calls it. Afterwards she says she was "Squozed" or "Squozen."

Talking about shopping ... saw some news footage last night from a few US stores yesterday. Lordy ... some of you Americans really take your shopping seriously hahahaha. Saw a couple clips of guys getting the tar beat out of them over something or other hahahahaha.

Glad to hear most of you seemed to have a good (even great) Thanksgiving.

I have been doing not bad. Was on the 300mg Lyrica (except for 4 days between the samples running out & when I got my prescription) for about 3 weeks. Some improvements ... but nothing earth shattering. Then a week ago ... I went up to 450mg ... and it enhanced the improvements I was already experiencing... but again nothing exceptional. Yesterday went on 600mg Lyrica (which my doc felt I would have to take right from the start). So ... will let you know how that goes.

This morning, I am actually feeling "good". But I can't see that being because of the 600mg Lyrica ... not after just one day at that dose. I figure it must be coincidence ... probably a short lived coincidence. But as I said ... will let you know ;-)

For the first time in months though ... I am actually feeling like I want to do something. But wouldn't you know? The first thing I have to do is housework. My cobwebs have cobwebs hehehehe. Been putting off housework for too long. Oh well. Thank God I live in a real small house. Shouldn't take long to clean ... but then there ARE the windows ... and venetian blinds hahahahaha.

Thankfully I do not have to worry about keeping enough energy to make supper. There's enough leftovers in the frig to feed auntie & I for probably 3 days now. So ... leftovers for supper. And auntie can nuke her own supper ... whatever leftovers she feels like eating hahahahaha.

Anyway ... wish me luck. Hopefully, I can get all the cleaning done. Then maybe I will put up the Christmas tree. Its a prelit artificial one I've been using for 10 years. Cost a small fortune ... even the pricing on the new prelit trees that are almost twice the size are cheaper than what my 4 1/2 footer cost back then (remember ... small house ... small tree hahaha). BUT ... even after 10 years ... you still have to touch it to know if its real or fake. So its been well worth the money it cost ;-)

Anyway ... better go ... get dressed and start cleaning before I decide to procastinate ... AGAIN. hahahahaha

Take care
Peter
