I see people wearing those glasses that change as they go outside and I might beable to go with that. I do have a lot of trouble when I go shopping in the malls as they have the flourescent lighting everywhere. I remember when my son was about five and said he didn't want to go into the malls because the noise bothered him. I thought he meant all the people but it was the noise from the lights I figured out in later on. Dunky has the "toe snow" problem happen too...LOL! I managed to make a few individual meat pies and one larger one. But I wanted to keep playing outside with my dogs and playing on the computer...LOL! I bet your baking smells a lot better than meat pies...did you make enough to share..huh..huh! Hoping Don and Jeanne are okay..well as okay as they can be I mean. Thinking of you Don! We did have to get a snowplow to clean up our driveway...darn! I thought we had done a pretty good job but we just couldn't get it all done by hand and the snowblower. Now I figure we will just do as little as possible and do whatever needs to be done AFTER the snowplow has been here. Because no matter how much snow and how much we manage to clear the bill after he is finished is always the same. It is a flat rate and that is that...LOL! Have a nice evening! Hugs, M -- posted by Rosee » Skull13 - Jeanne's Father died last night... He passed at 7:30. Jeanne had a few hours with him and her family. He was really happy that his "Baby Girl" made it up to see him. He went quietly in his sleep...thanks in large part to morphine. She should be home on Sunday...then the healing starts. Now to catch up... Queen Jean...If, like me, you take Lyrica a couple of hours before bed, then there's no dizziness problem and the sleepiness is a bonus! Split the difference with doctors...drop the Chiro and find an Osteopath! I spoke to my Rheumy about one last week. He has one he works with who is in the next building over. Have to get reccomended by my Rheumy as he is selective of new patients...thriving practice. Treats more than 100 of my Rheumy's Fibro patients. Divine Miss M...Instead of Topless Waitresses, for you we'd have Chippendale Dancers! Wink! Joelle...It isn't so much that the lights cause the pain as that they can cause their own problems: fatigue of the eyes, headaches of various types and strengths including migraines, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). One very common symptom of Fibro (more than 80% of us report it) is light sensitivity. Many docs in the know think more than a little of this is flourescent light sensitivity. Normal folks will look at you funny if you tell them that you can hear the lights in a Wal-Mart over all the noise. Thank you Joelle. Nobody ever really knows what to say when someone dies or is dying. It is just enough to show that you care. Divine Miss M...Thank you. I appreciate your caring. We will find a way to make it. Somehow we always do. Lower rent in our new apartment and ending her cell phone will help a good deal. A few more PB & J's will help the food budget too! Wink! Ah...another one with light troubles. Yesterday morning, Jeanne took me to Wal-Mart for one-stop shopping and they were playing Christmas music and had many announcements. I could still here the stupid lights! Joyce...Thank you. I have passe along your good wishes. You can talk to them at Medicare and they will talk you through step by step. Another good place for info is your Pharmacy. Hope your hubby continues to improve and that your bleeding problem clears up quickly. Loni...Thank you. We talked to the airlines and all they will do these days is wave the fees for changes if you have to change a flight. It is now the same price for one way twice as it is round trip! The airlines certainly have regressed during their financial stress. She booked one way up. Coming down, she may not even use the same airline! Diva...Thank you, I did. Talked to her while I was doing this. Glad you are doing better. Divine Miss M...So happy Lyrica is doing well for you. Another friend from another site says she is down from 12 Oxy to only 1 or 2 a day. Divine Miss M...It isn't so much how dark the glasses are as how much light they filter. Go to any optician and they can test your eyes and reccommend a good lens color and type...mine are some odd named shade of deep green. -- posted by Skull13 » Tery01 - Re: Jeanne's Father died last night... In response to Jeanne's Father died last night... posted by Skull13:Don - So sorry about your father-in-law. That is great that Jeanne was able to see her Dad and talk to him before he passed. I am thinking about the both of you. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. I am stressing:-) I have so much to do and so little time...hey that is a song...So Many Men...So Little Time. Chippendales! We don't have them here in South Carolina. We have a lot of Female Strip Joints, which is so ridiculous. Flourescent lights, huh? Never seemed to have that problem, but then again I never noticed. Tamara - Glad to see you back. Well, I am off to the races again! Getting overwhelmed that I cannot breathe. LOL Looks like the Suite Univeristy to me. -- posted by Tery01 » tamara_peters - Re: (((((((Tamara))))))) In response to (((((((Tamara))))))) posted by Rosee:LOL Mare, I'd almost forgotten about the *snoopy dance*. It's great to be back. I'm so happy to hear that Lyrica is working so well for you. That's very cool! No snow here yet so would you mind not sending any our way for a bit? ;-) What kind of meat pies are ya making? I was wondering 'cause Richard's mother used to make us one every Christmas. I wonder if it's the same thing? Would you mind sharing your recipe? Loni, yup, I'm stuck like glue. LOL Yes, it does seem that way doesn't it? We all seem to follow similar cycles. How's your back doing? Are you still having trouble with that? Oh no, you've got snow? We had sleet the other day, but so far no snow. Don, sorry about your father-in-law. It's good that he died quietly in his sleep, though. My old doc was an Osteopath, not sure what this one is, but I liked him. I'm on Klonopin and Lisinopril now. So much for not taking meds, huh? Argh! I got to the point that I just didn't care anymore. Thanks, I'm feeling stronger every day. Well, except for whatever this intestinal viral thing is I have now. :O Tery, thanks. I'm really glad to be back. Hey, you need to slow down, breathe, and relax, okay? All that stress will end up getting ya in the end. Believe me I know of what I speak. It's not a good thing. There will just be the two of us for Thanksgiving so it'll be a snap for me. Oh, but we get the baby, and his parents of course, lol, for Christmas. Wooohooo! I'm soooo psyched about that. Joyce, I did see some of that report. It's totally ridiculous isn't it? Hope you get that bleeding problem stopped quckly. Hope hubby's doing better? Joelle, good to see you. Hope things are going better for you. Have to do a few things so I'll talk to you all later. Who's MIA? Geez Louise, you'd think Suite could improve the color situation. No one liked the mustard yellow, and now they've gone over to pea soup green, which, IMHO is just as bad! Yuk. Darn it! I meant to say Happy Birthday to my fellow Scorpios, Loni and Cat. Sorry, I think I used to know the dates, but I can't remember them now. I lost my birthday reminder thingy with all my e-mail switching. Argh! Anyway, Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuu! I finally broke down and called my computer guy. Besides the e-mail issue I now have other computer issues as usual. *sigh* Hopefully, he'll be able to straighten it out again, and I won't have to be offline. Huuugs, -- posted by tamara_peters » Skull13 - I appreciate all the support....Thank you! Tery...Thank you. It was good she got to see him...he died happy and she has the memory that she made him so happy.Thanksgiving shouldn't be so stressful...if it is, then maybe you need to try and figure out why it is and how you can ease the tension. Delegate responsibilities, downsize. Use the K.I.S.S. method. Speaking of songs, think of Ricky Nelson's "Garden Party." That's the one with the lyric, "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself." Joelle...Sun sensitivity is a part of Fibro and can be made worse by some meds (will be listed in warnings/side effects). It is a major part of Lupus. If it is just the sunlight, that's one thing. If it causes problems with your skin, etc. then it is more serious. Tery...They changed the color to puke green and pea green. Diva...Got your email but my reply was bounce back to me. Thanks for your kind words. My mother is taking Lisinopril for her CHF. She loves that she doesn't have to pee so much anymore. She's gone from once or twice an hour to just a few times a day. Same here, probably only two of us, maybe three with Carlos. Going to walk to the store on Sunday and pick up a small turkey. Loni...Great, I'm not the only one who sees the pea green! It is pretty awful looking. Diva...Did you know that Scorpions are one of the fastest growing non-mammal pets? Aparently most are perfectly safe to handle and they make great pets. Happy Birthday to all you so-called Scorpios! Did you ever stop to think that maybe your computer guy has a crush on you and never quite fixes all your problems so he can keep seeing you??? -- posted by Skull13 » pmhoran - Update ... sort of .... Don ... my thoughts & prayers are still with you & Jeanne and your family. Like so many others, I really don't know what to say at a time like this.Tamara ... glad you are feeling a bit better ;-) I have been battling the flu since Sunday, which sort of explains my absense. Thought I was over it a couple times ... but it came back to knock me on my butt again. Today ... I feel like I might finally be over it ... but am keeping my fingers crossed just in case ;-) Have been going through "a time" with auntie these past few weeks. First it was an eye infection. Got that cleared up ... but then her eye still felt scratchy. Ended up taking her to her eye doctor and he diagnosed "dry eyes". So I got some of those drops that are supposed to help with tearing for her. $20 for it ... and although she says she is using it ... I know darned well she isn't. She had been having a "difficulty" in that she was getting up every half hour at night to pee. So ... to the doc again. Turns out she was still using her Cranberry Concentrate capsules that her doc & I both told her to stop taking weeks ago. For a couple nights she only got up once or twice ... then back to the every half hour thing. I asked her if she started taking the Cranberry capsules again ... and she swore to me she wasn't. So ... I watched (actually I started counting the pills in the bottle). 3 days later I asked her again if she was taking the capsules. Again she swore she wasn't ... until I told her I was counting the pills and I knew darned well she was. Then she fessed up. So I've hidden the pills on her. I had a rather sleepless night the night before last ... and again she was up every 1/2 hour. So yesterday I had her give me a urine sample and I ran it into the lab ... have them check for infection. But I swear ... I think she is getting up every half hour because she knows it gets my attention. Gets my attention??? Dang, everytime she gets up she makes enough noise that it wakes me up out of a sound sleep ... and she doesn't have to make that much noise. So ... we all know what not getting "good sleep" does to us. And when she does this ... the next day she lays on the danged couch and sleeps all friggin' day. And now the kicker ... the old girl has suddenly become REAL picky about what she eats. I made a beef stew and she decided to just eat the meat & carrots ... so basically I get the potatoes, peas, beans and gravy. Aaaaarrrrggghhhhhh !!!! She did the same thing with the Chili I made last week ... picked out the meat, mushrooms and chunks of tomatoe ... and I get stuck with just beans and the sauce/gravy stuff. When I reheated it for another meal I cooked up some more meat and added it to the leftovers thinking I just might get some meat this time. And the old girl did it again. I am soooo ready to smack her upside the head (but I won't hehehe) ... which again does not help us at all. Anger, stress, just generally getting real fed up. I know I shouldn't feel like this ... but ... battling this flu and with everything else going on in my life ... my patience is wearing real thin real quick. I know I know ... I should just say to heck with it and put her in a nursing home. But ... she apparently still is not "bad enough" to be commited to a home ... so she would have to pay to be there and she doesn't have that kind of money. If she would just get a wee bit worse ... then she would qualify for the government to pay or chip in or whatever. Its terrible of me ... but I have actually been praying that something would happen so she would qualify to go into a home. No doubt ... that is contributing to my not feeling so good ... because I am feeling guilty that I am praying/wishing for her to worsen. Not "play act" worsen... but genuinely worsen. Right now I am feeling like a "very bad person" ... and its not like me to be feeling like this about someone. Praying for patience sure isn't helping this time. Maybe now that I am getting over the flu I will be able to cope with her "games" a bit better. Hope so. Anyway ... those who pray ... pray for some patience for me ;-) Just hope I find some before I start bouncing pillows off aunties head hehehehe ;-) Y'all take care. I hope you all have a GREAT weekend.
