I am also hoping and praying that this won't become a problem financially for you both. Hugs to both of you, M -- posted by Rosee » Rosee - Lights In response to Re: Re: Wish I could work again... posted by JOELLE777:Hi Joelle! Flourescent lights have bothered me and my younger son for a long time giving us headaches. Several people and my chiropractor were the ones that made me aware of the problems with the lights. The noise of the lights really gets to me as well, making me so irritated that I felt like I was getting out of control, messing with my head, mind and body is the only way I can explain it. Between the light and the noise it was a bad combination. My husband put in flourescent light in the office and the kitchen where I spend loads of time. He put in those sunshine tubes thinking he was helping me with my SAD....so sweet of him. See if this link helps...I have problems posting things like this so hopefully it will work..LOL! -- posted by Rosee » zhann - Re: Jeanne's Father is Dying... In response to Jeanne's Father is Dying... posted by Skull13:Don, I am so sorry. Tell Jeanne we are all thinking of her. Hugs, Joyce -- posted by zhann » zhann - Re: Lights In response to Lights posted by Rosee:Rosee and Joelle Flourescent lights flicker and buzz which drives me crazy as does bright sunlight. I keep them off and use lamps with bulbs in them unless I am cleaning when I need the lights from the flourescents. Husbands all have an INDUSTRIAL frame of mind when it comes to fixing a house. Husband went for his evaluation and will go for sleep apnea tests in mid December. He is on high powered antibiotics and will have more x rays. I just started some abnormal bleeding and am upset with that-went through hell with this in 2000. If you all saw any of the coverage yesterday on the Medicare debacle/mess, I feel just like that group that looked as if they were permanently stunned. I am just floored with it all. I can't read 300 page manuals and formularies for 5 different insurers and figure it out. Oh well, it is dreary here and I feel awful. Don't even talk about our diets. Hugs to all, Joyce -- posted by zhann » Loni - Re: Jeanne's Father is Dying... In response to Jeanne's Father is Dying... posted by Skull13:Don: My sympathy to both you and your wife. Jeanne should tell the airline that she is traveling because of a situation of an impending death in the family. They will try to accomodate her as quickly as they can, and upon her return, will give her some sort of discount on the tickets. All she had to do is provide a newspaper clipping with the obituary or a copy of the death certificate to them, and she will get a bit of a reimbursement of the airfare. I mention this only because of the financial stress that you have. Marilyn: Would tinted glasses or even prescription sunglasses help? They are available for those that are light sensitive. Might be worth checking out. Joelle: The above tip also might help you as well. Joyce: Sorry to hear that you and your husband are going through a medical hell of sorts. Thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way as well. Tery: Any way to set aside a day in which you can make double batches of your favorite family meals, then freeze them for a future use or a quick meal when really pressed for time? That would keep one out of the fast food joints, and free up the time you normally use for food prep during the week. Just food for thought here ( Pun intended, lol. ) Oh dear, the weather has taken such a turn now, and along with it seems to be all sorts of new problems and aches & pains for most of us. Saw the first flakes of snow this morning. Upper part of the state is supposed to get measureable snow. Ours is just getting everything wet now, but that could change tonight. Husband is leaving for his sisters place on Friday, and I have to get going on baking a few things for him to take up for the hungry hunters. Can't be there to help her, so will send along some things she can use to feed the guys. Stick around, I may make enough to share. In response to Re: Jeanne's Father is Dying... posted by Loni:Hi, Everyone: Just wanted to let you all know that I am still among the living. Took a bad spell, but I'm much better now. Seems like every time I say that something else happens doesn't it? LOL Don, I'm so sorry to hear about Jeanne's dad. Please extend my sympathies. Well, I had thought I would catch up with everyone, but looking at the posts now is a little overwhelming. I don't even know where to begin. Please just know that I love you all dearly, and appreciate your support and concern more than you'll ever know. And there's no way in heck I'd ever abandon you so it looks like you're stuck with me for the duration. ;-) I'll try my best to catch up a little at a time over the next several days, okay? ((((((((((((((((Fibro Friends)))))))))))))))))) Love, -- posted by tamara_peters » Rosee - (((((((Tamara))))))) In response to Re: Re: Jeanne's Father is Dying... posted by tamara_peters:Oh I am so glad to see you posting and really don't feel the pressure to catch up on every post. Just having you back is enough for us all! *doing snoopy dance*..LOL! Joyce love your comment about husbands being in a INDUSTRIAL frame of mind...LOL! Sorry that you are going through "thing" again or still. Please feel better soon! Loni I did have special prescription glasses and they didn't work at all. Maybe for people that didn't have sensitivity to such things, fibro and other medical probs it might be okay. Our weather sure did take a turn too, one day I am out walking in the sun, no coat, no boots, no hat...well you get the picture and woke up the next day to eight inches of snow. Mind you I still go outside without my coat and boots because it just isn't cold enough yet. I am still impressed with Lyrica and if I hadn't of over done things the other day I am sure I wouldn't have had to have one pain pill. Mind you I am down to two Oxycodine sp? maybe three a day which I am thrilled with. Compared to fifteen T-3's, a few Oxycodine, and anything else that I would try to get rid of my pain before. Got to go make some pastry and make some meat pies for dinner and some to freeze for later. Hugs, M -- posted by Rosee » Loni - Re: (((((((Tamara))))))) In response to (((((((Tamara))))))) posted by Rosee:Tamara: Us stuck with you? Nah, you're one of us! Sorry to hear that you had a bad spell. Seems they come and go for all of us. Marilynn: Yup, some dogs like the snow, others don't. Our shepherd's loved it, but when the snow got to be too much between their toes, they begged to come in. They were tender foots! My older brother has very dark prescription glasses that he uses when the lights get to be too much for him. They looked like sunglasses, and the glass was so dark that you could not see his eyes. Too bad yours did not work for you. Sounds like you are able to back off a bit on the pain pills. Great!!! Still haven't started on the baking, lol. Been cleaning around the house and doing a few other odds & ends stuff. Gotta get with the program of the day here! Some areas of the state already have as much as 9 inches of the white stuff. Barely nothing here.
