» ucci - Dyeing with Lady's bed straw

Most excellent and informative acticle. Thank you.My wife and I get our reds mainly from cochineal but even this is now hard to get, along with ready supply of madder. So your alternative may be just what we are looking for. Our colours will be different from yours probably due to soil and climate differences etc. It will be interesting to compare bed straw with cochineal which we find tends to have purplish pink rather than red overtones. We can't buy the beetles readily, only a 10 percent solution at great cost! Once again thanks for interesting article.
regards
