» wwang - How come some good books are overlooked? I still remember randomly picking up When Demons Walk at the library because the cover was intriguing. I was hooked after the first chapter. So I set out to search for other books by this author. To my disappointment, her first few books Masques, Steal the Dragon was already out of print. After more research, I realized that there are no hard cover version of any of her book and the publisher only print very small and limited amount before labeling the book as out of print. As an avid reader I find it dissapointing that such good books are not publicized by the publisher. I also would like to see her older books reprinted or made into ebooks because I'm dying to read them and NYC libraries don't have books that are 1 years old. I guess my main issue is why do some new author gets a big publicity push while others are ignored?-- posted by wwang » Freedomstar - Re: How come some good books are overlooked? In response to message posted by wwang:Unfortunately, publishers are interested in the bottom line like every other corporation. They will only promote books by name authors. I feel Patricia Briggs is an underated writer too. Her books sell for high prices as collector items now because of their scarcity. Maybe after her next book comes out, they might reprint her older ones. We can only hope. -- posted by Freedomstar
