» EvilChihuahua - Fantasy Gifts Great article you have there. You mentioned some great books, films, etc. Here are some more I recommend. Books: 2 great fantasy novels for children and the young at heart are The Neverending Story by Michael Ende and Brog the Stoop by Joe Boyle. The former was the inspiration for the films of the same name but go further than the movie ever could. It's a great story about a boy with no friends reading a book which is in fact a gateway to another world. The latter is about Brog, a young stoop (kind of a half-man half-fox creature) who must save his people, and the world, by restoring the "Source of the Light" and battling the evil Gorc, Redeye, and his deadly minions. For older readers I recommend Terry Pratchet's "Discworld" saga. Not only are they fantasy, but also comedy. Movies: There are 2 movies fit for the family but I don't know if they available on DVD, but they can be found on VHS. They are "The Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth". Both films were the product of Jim Henson and his "Creature Shop" that are entertaining for people of all ages. But for more mature movie goers I would say Conan the Barbarian, starring big Arnie and James Earl Jones. Games: On PS2 I would say "Onimusha 3: Demon Siege", the final chapter in Capcom's Onimusha trilogy, which also stars French actor Jean Reno. There is also the latest Prince of Persia game, as well as Final Fantasy X-2 and The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, available on PS2, XBOX and GameCube. For table top gamers you will always find something at Games Workshop, with their Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 games and their highly popular Lord of the Ring: Strategy Battle games.
