» jerrib - Sounds like a book for my library

My kids and grandkids enjoy this type of reading, too. Is it suitable for young teenagers?

Hi Jerri,

Yes, this books is suitable for young teenagers though they might find the references to Fairies a little difficult. It's a great book to discuss. Mr. de Lint does have some books he writes for young teenagers like _The Riddle of the Wren_.

I've taken a break from reading it at the moment, though I didn't want to put the book down. The elements of the story are so finely woven I find myself enamored with it, though it was a slow start getting into it.

The characters seem so real, the movement from fantasy to reality, fluid. As I read it I enjoy the written word, and wish I could write like Charles de Lint.

Thanks for introducing this book. Your review is right on!

He's just about my favorite author now, and I haven't even read all of his stories.

Looks like I'm going to have to read some more of his works. This book was a fast read, so I hope others last a bit longer.
