» Joy Butler - Fried Green Tomatoes

Welcome to Suite and thanks for the summertime cooking tips. I wonder if there's any difference in lycopene values between green and ripe tomatoes.

I am not sure. I looked it up and it sounds like lycopene is found in RED fruits and tomatoes. The website I found did not mention green tomatoes. You can also fry red tomatoes though, if you would prefer. I hear they are just as good smile

Here is the website I found the information on lycopene on. Of course, feel free to do your own research!!! http://1stholistic.com/Nutrition/vkb/lyc...

Welcome Michelle! Great first article and tips for summer cooking. I also look forward to future articles. I did check out your other site, and found some really good recipes there as well. I really liked the pop-up print out feature. I'm especially looking forward to trying the salmon dishes as it's one of my favorite fish.
