While you're at the cemetery, and have a chance, make sure you look at all the sides of the stone. Large family markers may actually having inscriptions for many members, not just one.

One relative carefully recorded and took pictures of all the stones in one graveyard for me. It filled in a few dates and a couple middle names, nothing special. Totally missed the inscription on the back of one stone that gave the record of service in the Civil War!

Now, if I only knew why Jonathan and Mary, husband and wife, are buried on opposite sides of Nathaniel (relationship unknown, but perhaps his father?)
