» DeannaC62 - Problems While Researching Family History

One of my biggest problems is staying organized. There are so many little bits of information you find, copies of things, etc., and it's hard to figure out what to do with it all. My goal is to find a way to systematically keep my files organized, enter it on my family tree software, and not lose anything!

» RoslynT - Trying to capture the Hobden heritage

I've had a new idea to assist all Hobden researchers. I've created a Hobden COMMUNITY website where we can all contribute, describe what we know about our various branches and gradually find out whether we are actually related way back somewhere somehow.

The way I was trying to work before I seemed to miss connecting with people because the relationship wasn't immediately apparent.

I am hoping this site will be much more welcoming to ALL Hobdens and a place where everyone can contribute equally and take a measure of control and ownership.

Please try it out - there's a guestbook if you'd care to sign it plus some good Hobden links - the site is only new so there'll be plenty more as it opens up. Please consider joining!!

Yours in genealogy and hoping to hear back from you,

» DeannaC62 - Sounds like a great idea!

The internet has been such a valuable tool for family history researchers. There are also surname forums on several web sites where I have been successful in finding out information.
Have you tried the Genealogy Forum at http://www.genforum.com? It has been very useful for me. Good luck on your Hobden research!

» RoslynT - Search engine position help

Having the search engines throw up your family history site can be a challenge, especially if you're not long established. Let your enthusiasm assist - the more mentions you can make of your pages off your site the more value-adding you will make to your page. So I'm hoping this notice will help add "relevancy" or "popularity" to my family history sites:

Blyth: http://www.tassie.net.au/~rteirney/

Hobden: http://communities.ninemsn.com.au/TheHob...

Macnish: http://www.geocities.com/rteirney/

The more sites that link to your site, the higher your place in the search engines.
