» eurocrat_au - Giving life to heroic concepts

I really loved your article, and it made me think about the heroes in my life. I love farm life too, and my hero when I was younger was my Uncle Theo in Horsham. He wasn't really my uncle, he was my Dad's friend, and he was a grouse person because as well as producing animals, he had nine children and the best tractor in the world. I used to love running through his wheatfields.

It's wonderful when kids can find real-life heroes instead of movie stars or sports stars. I think when you scratch a little bit you can find family heroes. My mum because she's proud to be skinny and wonderful with computers, my step-Dad because he's humourous and a bit of an anarchist. My Grandad because he's a brilliant writer, philosopher and moralist. My Grandma because she is the best hugger and cares deeply about her family, my Uncle John because he has the energy to carry him through different projects like "Johnny's Jungle Bar", the Flyer Newspaper, and more recently his B and B. That's all the heroes I can think of right now.

Thanks so much for your response to my article. REAL heros are wonderful in life. People we can relate too and really look up too.
Thanks again.
