entitled to your views, Mary, but I have to say I totally disagree with you here.

Life is what you make it; it's not what everybody else does to you. Certainly I agree there is bad in the world, but there is always a glimmer of hope, too, even if it's the smallest of things like the sun outside your window.

don't have the foggiest idea what you are talkig about--and obviously you have never been blacklisted or your profession destroyed. All people have limitations in what they can do in life--and I am sure that the victims of the tsunami invited it to blow away their houses and families.

and the people in Auschwitz don't suffer still from nightmares. I am sure tht they made their own lives hell just by being born Jews or suspected of being Jews or accused of being friends of Jews or any other petty complaints people wished to use against them for the destruction of their lives.

and for sure, I never asked my landlord to attack me and steal everything I owned...

thanks for moralizing and platitudes, but object, really I do.

I'm sure that those poeple recoveriong from the horrific Metrolink will all agree with you...

much we really can't control and life isn't necessarily what we make it, but whatr others give us, starting from birth. Ask the homeless childrenm of America what kind of future they face or the homeless person who suffers from exposure.

Yeah, I'm with Mary on this one (tho I do empathize with Jerri's optimism as well).

Life is not fair, and many humans are making it infinitely worse.

They make it worse with their active destruction.
And they make it worse by averting their eyes.

We are destroying our world... Making roads through our forests. Drilling in Alaska, where that pipe is going to break anyway due to the perafrost melting. And soon drilling in the delicate desert in New Mexico. The horror of the animals who live and die in factory farms, and the environmental destruction caused there. etc. etc.

I applaud Mary for bringing these things to our attention. There are things we can do to help...

If you see a wrong, step up and correct it. Plant a tree! Go vegan: even "part time vegetarian" like Meatless Mondays is going to help. Sign some of those petitions that Mary linked to!

Thanks for your article and for the links, Mary. May your journey bring you personal healing.

{{{Hugs}}} if that's okay.

Thank you, Mary, for responding. I hope your life looks up soon.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but I have been a victim of depression. Without medication my world was dark. I make no bones about the difference medication has made in my life. I have certainly had my days where nothing looked good. It was not fun.

All I can do, Mary, is offer friendship and hope that things start looking up soon.

You write beautifully and it's always a pleasure to read your works even if I don't agree with them sometimes.

Hi Cheri. Thanks for posting here. I appreciate your input. You're right. We can all make this world a better place even by doing something little.

Now I will go back and look at some of Mary's links. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.

but it's pretty apparent that neither of you read the story--

often we eally do not have control over others or what they do to us, or how they destroy our property

but read the story and then check out the links and stop grunting at me. there must be some reason why I put a story at the top--although I am beginning to wonder about this myself.

and nobody asked me my opinion of disconnecting the Sutietalk--but I get a lovely message each time I come in that there was no interest--obviusly the powers-that-be in the Suite made a decission for the invisible majority which actually use it to communicate with each other... but communication is not exactly wanted in this environment.

so another thing i had no control over, but very much dislike about the presumptious powers-that-be

they ae very destructive in breaking up a communications network of the invisible fleas
